Being a Warrior Of The Weekend can mean a lot of things. It could mean you were on fire from the offensive side of the floor, it could mean that you were eating your opponent alive with your tenacious defense, and everything in-between.

In this article we evaluate five players out of the state of Nebraska, who held their own and helped their team to success over the past 3 days, while putting up some eye-opening numbers in some form in the mean time.

When you look at the stats that [player_tooltip player_id='895541' first='Nyla' last='Jones'] is putting up throughout her first 8 games on the AAU floor this season, you notice that she is close to averaging double-digit in rebounds, while also being a handful underneath the basket offensively. Jones was a noteworthy warrior this weekend in Texas to everyone in attendance. She was cleaning up messes on the boards on both ends, showing her physical presence at times, and even stepping out to the perimeter on offense and defense. All in all, she really showed her versatility as a PF/Center. I have a feeling that Jones is going to continue this dominant run with her Nebraska Hoops [program_tooltip program_id='713325' first='Elite' last=''] 17U program. With the other type of prospects they already have on roster, this a deep group to try to contain.

[player_tooltip player_id='909425' first='Marlee' last='Emerson'] makes some crafty moves off the dribble. It's somewhat eye opening even knowing that Emerson can play. One of the best attributes about Emerson's game is that she doesn't let the defense dictate what she does offensively. Instead, she takes her time, see's the whole floor and situation unfolding around her, and THEN she works from there. On multiple occasions this weekend Emerson was showing off her polished handle, impressive footwork, and deep knowledge of the game. If she continues to compete at this type of level, it's only a matter of time before she will have some collegiate recruiters asking about her future.

Justine Tcheuchchoua is in the conversation for having the best start out of any Nebraska player this AAU season. That's any player in the state, at any age level. Tcheuhchoua has been putting on clinics in whatever game she competes in. Over the weekend, JT received a bunch of praise from her performances down in the great state of Texas. She was killing it down low in between the blocks, she was stepping out and hitting three pointers off the catch when she had a bigger defender on her who was sagging, and she would even get the ball in the mid-post from about 15FT, usually going to work for an easy bucket in every which way. The AAU season can help your college recruitment in some immeasurable ways and I think that's what we are see here first-hand.

Next Level [program_tooltip program_id='713325' first='Elite' last=''] is an up and coming AAU program out of Omaha, that possesses a roster with respectable talent across the board this AAU season. Someone that you might know of already, who is going to be a vital piece in their success this next six months is [player_tooltip player_id='879138' first='Emersyn' last='Spurgeon']. Spurgeon is a player standing at 5'11. She has great footwork, agile movement, balance, touch, and athletic ability. Spurgeon combines all of these things together to become a problem in the paint for her opponents. In a few contests this weekend, ES was one stat away from recording a double-double in points-rebounds. Whether that be a rebound or a point. To consistently be close to a double-double as a high schooler is something to jot down. It means you play with a lot of skill, smarts, and an extremely high motor. All things that will translate to college level one day.

One of the highest scoring contests of the weekend occurred when [player_tooltip player_id='901681' first='Abby' last='Scritchfield'] of Omaha Supreme AAU recorded a season high 22 points. Scritchfield, a 5'8 guard that competes from Millard North during the high school season, has picked up some tricks in her off-season since I have seen her last. She is also competing with a high energy level and a ton of new confidence as you can tell. I'm assuming that all comes from an off-season of training and figuring out what she does best. This is someone that I would keep an eye on moving into the rest of this AAU season and into the Fall. If Scritchfield keeps up the hard work and gets the opportunity, she should continue to thrive when she takes the Varsity floor as a junior.
