Every AAU season, one can expect that some of the best basketball that will be played will emanate from the Buckeye State. The 2025 version of club ball has displayed that once again.

Whether this has pertained to events taking place in Ohio or teams that represent the Buckeye State on the grassroots trail, Ohio has once again impressed over the past couple of months.

Among the many teams from Ohio is Team Hoskins. The Hoskins refers to Brandie Hoskins who played her high school ball at Chaminade Julienne in Dayton and was a 2003 McDonald's All-American. Hoskins played collegiately at Ohio State and was a 2007 WNBA Draft pick by the Seattle Storm.

Here is a look at her 17U Black team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235407' first='Madalyn' last='Ball'] – Ball is one of two representatives from the Vikings of Miamisburg on the roster. She is a multi-sport athlete who stands at 5-foot-11 and also partakes in junior varsity volleyball alongside her hoops endeavors.

[player_tooltip player_id='1237674' first='Hannah' last='Weaver'] – Weaver is listed at 5-foot-5 and is the lone representative from Lakota East on this team. She can give a team worthwhile minutes as either a one guard or at the two. She previously ran with [program_tooltip program_id='714808' first='Cincy' last='Chargers'] 2026 on the AAU circuit.

Kenzie Roche – Roche was part of a Stebbins team that concluded the 2024-25 season with a 14-8 record. She is one of two from Stebbins on this year's Team [program_tooltip program_id='1235601' first='Legends' last='Hoskins'] 17U Black squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='743721' first='Payton' last='Pytel'] – Fairmont is another school that is well-represented on this team. Pytel is evidence of that. In addition, she is a 2027 that is playing up in class. She is one of three from the 2027 class on this squad.

Cydney Grigsby – Listed at 5-foot-8, Grigsby primarily thrives as a small forward, but can also see playing time at the two which can make her serviceable as a wing. She was among our top performers at the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit's Grassroots in Gem City earlier in the month.

[player_tooltip player_id='852923' first='Brooklynn' last='Seubert'] – That top performer distinction for that Circuit event in Dayton also applied to Seubert. At 5-foot-11, Seubert is more than willing to play at a variety of places on the floor – including as a center, power forward and shooting guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='481376' first='Brooklynn' last='Sykes'] – Sykes joins Ball as the two from Miamisburg on this year's team. The 5-foot-6 point guard particularly has a knack for understanding the game's fundamentals. She was one of our featured players three years ago at the Ohio Freshman Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241440' first='Cassidy' last='Foster'] – Another representative from Fairmont, Foster also maintains a multi-sport schedule where she not only participates in basketball but also junior varsity volleyball. She is listed at 5-foot-7.
