Kayla started strong on day one and carried her team to the championship game on day two. Kayla jetted the length of the floor with quick crossover dribbles for a layup. She jumped passing lanes for steals, dished out assists, pursued offensive rebounds, and raced down the court for breakaway layups. Kayla drained a confident triple up top and exploded past defenders with shifty crossover dribbles to score a left-handed layup. Kayla showed off her euorstep move and converted many free throws. Nobody could stay in front of Kayla, and her ability to score full-speed layups in transition, while also knocking down many jumpers off the bounce, was exciting to watch at our PGH Michigan State Tournament. She used a hesi-crossover dribble to drive by a defender and draw a foul. Avyana displayed confident handles and dribbled into multiple 3-pointers. She crossed over a defender to score a contested left-handed layup and shifted gears quickly using low double-crossover dribbles. Avyana maintained a wide and balanced stance as she dribbled laterally to get downhill. She has athleticism and muscular development that stand out. Avyana is going to be a special prospect. Sailor raced up the sideline with her left hand to cause a foul and buried both of her free throws. She drove hard in the middle of the lane, pivoted to create space, and banked in a jumper. Kennedy banked in a floater after a crossover dribble and knocked down a corner jumper. She worked hard for rebounds and knocked down another jumper from the wing. Something I liked about Kennedy was a real throwback when she shot free throws, spinning the ball backward off the floor before shooting the ball. I love to see that old school swagger!
