NW Hoop Summit: 2028 Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Portland-area club basketball team Lady Fly topped the 15U/14U bracket at the HoopSource NW Hoop Summit in Beaverton on Sunday. Meza gets to the rim and crashes the offensive boards. The freshman is solid with the ball, turns in the paint, and can finish tough through contact. She drew fouls on the putback, drive, and breakaway layup for the and-1. Thompson has nice handles and looked comfortable getting her team into its offense. The sophomore can pull up from deep and hit the catch-and-shoot three. She has nice lateral movement to get downhill on the dribble and can drive and dish or finish at the rim herself. She had a highlight reel-worthy one-handed catch and finish layup in transition. So smooth. Garcia is strong with the ball and can finish through contact and the foul. She can pull up from midrange and in the paint. The freshman finds the lane to the basket and can finish a reverse scoop layup. She makes the play in transition and crashes the boards. Garcia has quick hands to tip or steal the pass. Carston pushes the pace and can drive shoulder-to-shoulder, coast-to-coast to finish the contested layup. The freshman is creative in the paint to get to the rim. She's a playmaker with great vision and passing in transition and the half-court set.
