With so many prospects to be seen at the Spring Showdown, we've opted to break them up by region this week. On Tuesday we covered five emerging prospects from the Twin Cities Metro Area. Next comes the Out-State players. Here are five more prospects we liked this past weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='880951' first='Vaeda' last='Davidson'] – 2028 Guard, Duluth East

We have been hearing about this [program_tooltip program_id='779294' first='Northern' last='Lights'] guard for some time now. With many of the state's top AAU teams away at the various shoe circuits this weekend, we got our first chance to see the young prospect in person. A 9th grader out of Duluth East, Davidson (pictured above on the right) is likely to be a legitimate college prospect in the coming years. At 5-foot-10 with a large, muscular frame, she is already built like a college athlete. On Saturday, Vaeda showed off her tremendous skill set and versatility. On the offensive end, she can take the ball up top and run the team's offense, or just as easily back her defender down in the low post. She's explosive off the bounce, brings a ton of energy on the defensive end, and doesn't get sped up or rattled at any point. College coaches looking for the prototypical modern basketball player needn't look any further.

[player_tooltip player_id='867616' first='Nora' last='Wake'] – 2028 Guard/Forward, Hill City/Northland

Davidson's teammate on the [program_tooltip program_id='779294' first='Northern' last='Lights'] ninth grade squad also gave us much to take notice of on Saturday afternoon. Wake (pictured above left) is a 6 foot guard with a tremendous amount of length to her frame. Still only 14 years old and. like many players who grow substantially at a young age, it may take a bit longer before she reaches her full athletic potential. What we saw on Saturday was very promising in that regard. The Hill City/Northland freshman showed out on the offensive end this weekend, knocking down several shots from beyond the arc. She also impressed us with her keen ability for hunting down boards, using her length and physicality to do so. Nora also possesses a natural ability for making well-timed dime passes to her teammates. This is a prospect with plenty of potential for the next level.

Ella Schmiesing – 2026 Forward, Tri-City United

The [program_tooltip program_id='713291' first='Minnesota' last='Nice'] forward made a distinct impression on our scouts this Saturday at the Spring Showdown. At least 6-foot-1, Schmiesing is a major presence in the paint. She absorbs contact well, plays with physicality, and finishes well around the rim. Ella, who is also an accomplished swimmer, possesses great athleticism combined with a large, muscular frame. While she is new to AAU, the Tri-City United junior excelled over the weekend by keeping things simple, sticking to her role and performing it very well. Our scouts enjoyed her calm business-like demeanor, as well as her intensity on the glass. Ella led all scorers in her team's division, scoring 47 points in four games. Coaches looking for hardworking, fundamental post players will want to catch a game this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241042' first='Shannon' last='Lund'] – 2027 Guard, Cromwell-Wright

With speed, athleticism, and a strong skill set, this [program_tooltip program_id='779294' first='Northern' last='Lights'] guard jumped out to us very early in our day at the Spring Showdown. Standing at 5'9, Lund possesses good size and length for her position. She has a tight handle on the ball, excellent court vision, and does not hesitate to share the ball with her teammates. The Cromwell-Wright sophomore is dynamic on the offensive end, constantly moving off the ball, making sharp cuts, and setting solid screens. She can pull up on a dime in the midrange or knock down shots from past the three-point line. One of the things we liked most about Shannon‘s game was her ability to keep things simple, allowing her to excel on both ends of the floor.

Sophie Nelson – 2028 Guard, Perham

It didn't take long for the [program_tooltip program_id='713021' first='West' last='Central United'] guard to stand out to us on Saturday afternoon. Standing at 5-foot-5, Nelson is on the smaller side, but easily makes up for it with a high-revving motor and an advanced skill set for her age. Against [program_tooltip program_id='1229871' first='Southwest' last='Fury'], the Perham freshman showed off her crafty ball handling, explosive first step, and the ability to weave through defenders on her way to the rim. Sophie also has a nice shot – smooth with a textbook release. She was one of the leading scorers in her team's division over the weekend, putting up 40 points in four games. We also enjoyed seeing her high basketball IQ on display, particularly on the defensive end of the floor where Nelson appears to have a great understanding of spacing and angles.
