This weekend I had the task of remotely evaluating our PGH Champions Challenge is Appleton, Wisconsin. This weekend was jam packed with action from the 12U level all the way to the 17U level, competing in multiple gyms around the city of Appleton.

Throughout those few days, I have been taking live-notes on prospects and really diving into what makes each of those players tick. In this article we cover some of those notes.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

[player_tooltip player_id='1240848' first='Brynn' last='Hough'] - 2031 - [program_tooltip program_id='713071' first='Play4Him' last='Academy'] 2031

"Hough has been an eye-opener throughout the weekend. She moves efficiently with very little wasted movement. She would be defined as a smooth operator on the floor from the looks of it. She also possesses top-notch body control & a high motor. Two things you need to thrive at a competitive level when you get older. Hough is still extremely young in the game and in her career but there is definitely a good amount of promise here."

[player_tooltip player_id='1223596' first='Vienna' last='Richards'] - 2030 - Team Compete 13U

"One of the bigger prospects that this event has had to offer at the 13U level. Richards stands with solid height, agile movement to pair along with that, and smart head on her shoulders. She primarily likes to do her work near the blocks on either side of the ball but she is athletic enough to step out and stick with a smaller opponent if need be defensively. She is also smart enough to let the defender bring the ball to her in most situations, leading to some convincing stops in her 1v1 matchup."

[player_tooltip player_id='874527' first='Harper' last='Sowinski']- 2030 - [program_tooltip program_id='713038' first='Wisconsin' last='Blaze'] 13U Gold

"Sowinski runs the PG spots primarily for her Blaze team and she is pretty good at that. She is a player that moves well on and off the ball after she does pass it within her team's offense, never trying to stay in one spot for too long. I would define Sowinski has a pass-first player but she does have the ability to put it on the floor with either hand for a take into the heart of the defense. From there, she can pass it to someone that might be open around her or she can finish it herself in a few different ways."

[player_tooltip player_id='1238034' first='Loomis' last='Anderson'] - 2031 - [program_tooltip program_id='713071' first='Play4Him' last='Academy'] 2031

"Anderson does a great job of always staying on pace and making the simple play for her squad. She is well rounded in most facets of the game it seems and she competes with a great attitude. Right now, this is a player that can move outside to inside. If that trend continues, she will be an experienced prospect in a few years at the high school level with a lot of versatility. This weekend for Play4Him, she has been doing what is needed in any given moment, at any position and that has stood out to those who are paying attention."

[player_tooltip player_id='1162218' first='Emersen' last='Sipes'] - 2030 - [program_tooltip program_id='713038' first='Wisconsin' last='Blaze'] 13U Gold

"This is the person that her team wants shooting the ball. Whether that be within their motion offense or within their BLOB plays, Sipes is the one that most of their plays are ran for or at least that with the case this morning. Sipes is coordinated, fundamental in her movement, she has a uniform shot release, and whenever she puts it up offensively - it looks like it has a chance of going in. All good things to see out of a prospect at this age level."

[player_tooltip player_id='1241477' first='Devynn' last=''] Mackey - 2030 - [program_tooltip program_id='712636' first='Let' last='It Rain'] 13U Grundahl

"Mackey is a willing passer almost to a fault. She does a good job of understanding when someone is open or where they are going to be open in the next few moments. She is smart with her pump fakes and that usually leads to open drives going either way towards the rim. I would say that Mackey is a willing passer almost to a fault because sometimes she should be more selfish but that is something she will learn with more experience over-time. It's awesome to be a great teammate and get everyone involved but as a SG/CG, she should look for herself a little more too."

[player_tooltip player_id='1215069' first='Olivia' last='Karls'] - 2030 - [program_tooltip program_id='712636' first='Let' last='It Rain'] 13U Walker

"Really nice size for her position. Karls can move between the 2-5 spot in the blink of an eye down the court. In one moment she is rebounding and taking it as the PG/SG, the next she is running the lane lines in transition for a bucket down-hill. She has a basic handle, fundamental skill-set, and better than average coordination - all which help her look like a pretty compete player."
