Section 7 Preview

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The best summer event in the West will be in Arizona as 140 teams make there way to Arizona to play in the High School Live Period. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Utah will be sending a few teams to represent such as Bingham, Cedar Valley, Dixie, Copper Hills, Lone Peak, Mountain Ridge, Pleasant Grove, Westlake, Skyridge, West, Layton Christian and Snow Canyon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>They will face off against teams from California, Nevada, Idaho, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and Oregon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last year a similar amount of teams was at Section 7 and a few of the teams that did well all season and in the playoffs did not go undefeated in this event. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bingham will have a very new team as they graduated 8 seniors and look to develop their freshman, sophomores and juniors for this upcoming season. They do have two notable returners in Evalyn Roberst and [player_tooltip player_id='789053' first='Stacia' last='Peoples']. Look for new comers like [player_tooltip player_id='875180' first='Lanie' last='Smith'] and Brizban Cottle to make an impact</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cedar Valley brings back everyone from last years team. [player_tooltip player_id='796818' first='Ellie' last='Larson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='796815' first='Hadley' last='Whiting'] are the two leading scorers but they have a lot of girls that can score. This team will be fun to watch. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dixie had a stellar year and they also bring back a lot of young talent starting with [player_tooltip player_id='873331' first='Izzy' last='Hollingshead'] and Addie Winters. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Copper Hills graduated a ton of talent but they will have some players ready to step up like [player_tooltip player_id='1206007' first='Abby' last='Bush'] and [player_tooltip player_id='922382' first='Ella' last='Creer'].</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The reigning State Champions in 6A will also return almost everyone and they will be led by Top 5 player [player_tooltip player_id='796745' first='Kennedy' last='Woolston']. Woolston brings back size and scoringa nd she will be joined by a lot of returners. The Warner Sisters will play together (Charlie Warner, [player_tooltip player_id='952625' first='Peyton' last='Warner']) They have [player_tooltip player_id='849040' first='Lave' last='Holdcraft'] and Maddie Pope coming back. This team will also be fun to watch. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mountain Ridge returns everyone from their Elite 8 team including dynamic scorer [player_tooltip player_id='790536' first='Kya' last='Newton'] and [player_tooltip player_id='866703' first='Jada' last='Jangard']. Look for [player_tooltip player_id='796847' first='Jessica' last='Maynard'] to have a big impact with her size. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pleasant Grove looks like they will be a power for a few years as they have a lot of new faces coming to the program. Tabi Clark has committed to Utah Valley and she gets a lot of help this coming season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Westlake has a lot of players coming back including [player_tooltip player_id='796479' first='Avery' last='Thompson'] who is having a heck of a scoring spring and [player_tooltip player_id='861992' first='Ella' last='Seymore'] a lengthy wing that can shoot. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Skyridge will have a new look and many are thinking Ellena Chiara is ready to take the reins of this program. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>West will be very tough as they have one of the best CG's in the state in Kaylee Falatea. This team will have a little bit of everything and do not be surprised if there are some new names on this team. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Snow Canyon is another team that will have a quick turnaround as they bring back some talent as well. They will have some height and some guards that can score the bball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Layton Christian is a team that could make a big jump in their play.
