As we close out April, the Shamrock Classic is well in the past, the Prime Event, The Clash, and other events have come and gone, and now we turn our focus to May. There will be several nice tournaments, including another "live" period, so I wanted to point out a handful of 2028 prospects who should make for an intriguing watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='840811' first='Zoey' last='Wood'], 2028, 5-5 PG, Mt. Vernon H.S. (Fortville)
- Of the prospects on this list, Zoey might be the most entertaining right now. She is tough-nosed, gritty, and she plays with a competitive fire. She has a nice handle, she can get out and go in transition, she is a willing passer/creator, plus she can score the ball from all three levels. She brings nice physicality to the point guard position for a youngster, and she gives good effort at the defensive end of the floor. Look for her to be one of the better floor generals this Summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='999415' first='Ava' last='Richie'], 2028, 5-7 PG, Crown Point H.S.
- Speaking of floor generals, Ava brings a great deal of potential to the floor in Northwest Indiana. She is extremely long and wiry, likely still growing, but she is already highly skilled with the ball. She can operate like a game manager, she can break down defenders off the bounce, or she can act as a shooter/scorer and work off of screens. As she finishes growing and getting stronger, look for her to be more consistent, absorb contact better, and be a real threat in this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='917414' first='Zo'e' last='Peyton'], 2028, 6-1 PF, Lawrence North H.S.
- Zo'e is one of a few sizeable youngsters for the Lady Wildcats. She has an athletically strong frame, some length, and she plays with some bounce in her step. She is still developing her offensive skillset away from the basket, but she can finish over opponents inside. Defensively, she can pursue rebounds or box out, she can block shots, and when she shows urgency and sits down in a nice stance, she could be elite at that end of the floor. She has a great deal of upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='1144653' first='Amaya' last='St. Hilaire'], 2028, 6-1 PF, West Lafayette H.S.
- Amaya is another prospect with tremendous upside, but she's also still figuring everything out. She is extremely long and wiry, fairly fluid, somewhat bouncy, and possibly still growing. She is certainly not a post, probably more of a mid-post '4' right now, but she does find herself around the rim some because of her height. In time, she could consistently move to the mid-post or arc. Her consistent improvement is something that anyone can appreciate when they see her.

[player_tooltip player_id='933384' first='Leah' last='Werth'], 2028, 5-11 PF/SF, Homestead H.S.
- Homestead's Freshman class is like their Junior class in terms of talent, depth, and balance position-wise. Leah is someone who initially added good depth to their 2028 group, but she has made a huge jump since the Fall and now could be one of their key forwards heading into the 2025-2026 season. She has athleticism, length, a wiry strength, plus she has some skill at all three levels. Her ability to play inside of 15-feet, coupled with her shot, should cause opponents problems.
