is off to a strong start this season, providing consistent production on both ends of the floor for Mt. Vernon. Offensively, she’s averaging 15.2 points per game, but her impact extends far beyond scoring—she currently leads the team in both steals and assists, showcasing her versatility and all-around value. In Mt. Vernon’s November 19th matchup against a young Westfield team, Zoey demonstrated her ability to read the defense and take whatever opportunities were available. Whether finishing at the rim, creating off the dribble, or knocking down open looks, she found multiple ways to score and keep her team in control throughout the game. Her adaptability, decision-making, and consistent production make Zoey a key leader for Mt. Vernon and a player who helps them stay competitive—and win—night after night.

Zoey came out firing on all cylinders in game one for Team 4 and she kept performing at a high level all day at the Sophomore ID Camp. Her explosive first step and quick bursts off the dribble carved up defenses. She showed off her hands and athleticism by leaping way up to grab an offensive rebound, then made a quick transfer for the finish. Zoey made a great recovery on defense and climbed the ladder again to block the shot. She created an up-tempo offense, firing long skip passes in transition for assists, strong chest passes, and threaded the needle with a two-handed rocked pass through two defenders. Zoey created space to shoot and drive with her shifty dribble combinations. She went by with a crossover to score a floater, buried a long jumper at the top of the key off the bounce, and hit a smooth corner three. Zoey delivered the highlight of the day when she ripped the net with a volleyball line, buzzer-beating three-point swish to end the half. She excelled in all phases and earned recognition as a Top Performer.

Zoey is about as tough as they come in this class and at this position. She has solid strength for her size, but she also possesses some quickness and the ability to change directions with the dribble. She can act as a shooter/scorer or a lead facilitator, and she is somewhat gritty, especially at the defensive end of the floor. I would expect for her to have a big July, but she’s also looking to lead a rather young Mt. Vernon team over the next three seasons.

Based on everyone I talk to who knows this class, Zoey seems to be one of the more entertaining prospects to watch. She is quick, feisty, and plays with a lot of emotion & toughness. She always competes, and she is able to affect a game at either end of the floor. She gives good effort defensively, she can rebound her position, and she will make hustle plays. But she also has a solid perimeter shot, she can break down a defense, and she can score or distribute.

Zoey has a terrific feel for the game at such a young age. She is a tough competitor and a natural leader that knows how to create scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. Really good 3-point shooter as well. (Featured Image)
