There are a handful of names that I still want to highlight from the Legacy Region Finals in Appleton over the weekend. I was focusing on the younger age levels in Appleton, and the 14U games were at Wrightstown High School and the Champions Center.

[player_tooltip player_id='1173638' first='Lizzie' last='Jackson']

The Pius forward is a physical kid with the talent to make plays with the ball in her hands. The 6'0 forward does an excellent job of scoring in the paint and occasionally shows what she can do on the perimeter. She's been impressive all AAU season because of her footwork, physicality, and skill on the offensive end of the floor. She has the size and lateral quickness to be a versatile defender but still has room to grow. She'll be a name college coaches will track over the next few years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1221076' first='Ava' last='McCarthy']

The Eau Claire native is a kid I'm eager to see blend in with the Old Abes group she'll join this winter. It's a talented group that was a few possessions away from a state tournament last season, and they return a chunk of their core from that group. McCarthy is a solid perimeter shooter who can find a role offensively with that alone, but I'm curious to see what role she earns next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='992508' first='Macy' last='Stremlow']

The relentlessness Stremlow plays with is impossible to dislike. She's had to play as an undersized forward to earn minutes at Verona and has played that same role with Let it Rain and has thrived in that role. Stremlow plays hard around the basket and doesn't back down to anyone around the basket. Her ability to be physical and rebound under the basket allows her opportunities to push the ball up the floor and play more like a guard for a few seconds.

[player_tooltip player_id='992482' first='Allie' last='Neuenfeldt']

The De Pere guard will be an intriguing kid to watch develop. Depending on who I've asked about her, I've heard thoughts that are essentially the polar opposite of one another. What I can say is Neuenfeldt is a hard-nosed kid who plays hard on both ends of the floor. She's an athletic kid who has excelled at attacking the basket at her age level and has powered through guards who defend her on the perimeter. I'm eager to see how she's utilized the rest of summer with Prime Nation and what role she earns with the Red Birds this high school season.
