Baden Summer Showcase: Senior Standout Guards (Pt 1)

Check out some more standout seniors from this past weekend's Baden Summer Showcase. These guards played some high-level hoop and made the most of the opportunities over the live weekend. Here are ten standout senior guards, with ten more coming in part two.   [player_tooltip player_id='1261000' first='Mayli' last='Tuomisto'] | 5'7 | CG | Juanita   Pretty dynamic point guard who plays with a good IQ and was a real engine for their offense. Can finish with multiple moves in the paint and had several tough finishes through contact at the rim while also showing some touch pulling up short with runners. Keeps the offense flowing with dribble drives and passes up and across the court. Just a hooper who made plays in every area, making great cuts, waxing jumpers, and even blocking some shots.   [player_tooltip player_id='318805' first='Olivia' last='Collins'] | 5'9 | CG | Sumner   Stood out for her motor and combo of scoring/playmaking on offense. Showed great wiggle in tight spaces and did really well to pivot out of pressure. Also displayed great vision out of her drives and working with her back to the basket to hit cutters across the key. Dynamic offensively with her shot-making and accurate passing, and did a great job working back to passes, saving a handful of turnovers from happening. Very composed in short rolls to feel space and get midrange to go.   [player_tooltip player_id='928024' first='Madison' last='Hughes'] | 5'8 | CG | Sumner   Had a very solid weekend across the board. Was just looking to make the right play and showed she has the ability to hit some big shots from behind the arc. Made a bunch of key passes and was able to draw up extra defenders with strong initial moves and fakes that opened up space. Made some great plays in little ways, brought a lot to the court without having to score a ton.   [player_tooltip player_id='580530' first='Ellery' last='Burke-Brown'] | 5'10 | SG | Roosevelt   Very skilled guard with a pure shot. Awesome and efficient scorer with a smooth, controlled handle, good feet, and is able to make quick reads. Didn't need a ton of space to get shots off but was still patient in picking her spots and was looking to make some key passes and get teammates going. Great at keeping control of her defender with fakes and subtle moves. Her awareness and poise on the ball are next level.   [player_tooltip player_id='515021' first='Brooke' last='Blachly'] | 5'8 | CG | Archbishop Murphy   She was one of the more impressive players on the weekend, showcasing her usual elite shooting but displaying elevated playmaking and creativity with the ball. She should have an even higher usage rate this winter and looks ready for an excellent senior season. Very active game analyzer and was quite impressive in finding weak spots in defense. Created a ton of her own shots with crafty dribbles from three, the midrange, and going to the hoop. Just a dynamic player.   [player_tooltip player_id='1138309' first='Calla' last='Nelson'] | 5'8 | SG | Seattle Academy   She's a pretty strong guard with good size who was tough downhill, bumping defenders off and using some creative footwork to step around and through traffic in the paint. Played with tenacity on both ends and was all over the place in their game against Eastlake. Always seemed to find herself around the ball. Made some really tough layups and was pretty dynamic offensively from the perimeter and getting to the rim.   [player_tooltip player_id='759438' first='Bailey' last='Nettleton'] | 5'8 | CG | Tahoma   Smooth shooter from three-point range and the midrange. Was able to find her shots facing up, working back to the ball, and attacking space off the dribble. Very fluid in covering space off the catch with initial moves and worked for great shots, helping her stay efficient from each level over the weekend while mixing in some nice playmaking. Seemed very calm with the ball in her hands.   [player_tooltip player_id='585032' first='Kaleo' last='Anderson'] | 6'0 | PG | King's   Next level guard whose size and composure under pressure allowed her to scan over the defense and keep the ball secure. Very smooth from each level, sees the floor at a high level, and is someone who gets quick depth on her drives. Her ability to get depth set up some hurried help defense that opened up the middle for dives, and her balance allowed for some pretty step-back jumpers too. Hit the three at a good rate and was one of the more imposing players over the weekend.   [player_tooltip player_id='579810' first='Megan' last='Roberts'] | 5'7 | CG | Eastlake   Was a huge part of their offense with her shot-creation and playmaking. Was able to get to her spots on all levels, shot the three at a high rate, created separation in the midrange, and was highly astute using her body to shield her shots inside. Still looked to make the right play, recognizing extra defenders and kicking the ball back out.   [player_tooltip player_id='586268' first='Syesha' last='Simanton'] | 5'8 | CG | Bellevue   Electric player on both ends with her ability to get to zero and make some creative passes with great timing. Showcased a very smooth elbow stepback that was pretty tough to stick with. Her ability to attack hard downhill and threaten to turn defenders really set up the space for that step back. She was racking up steals and fast break buckets and made opposing teams play at her pace.
