Emerging Talents in Women’s Basketball: Future Stars to Watch

Not so much as those ball clubs who are going to be the next state champion. I am talking about some true guards who are about to take off. These young lady have been sharpening their skills on the travel ball circuit along with putting tons of work in the gym. The way they move on the floor, get to the rim, facilitate the rock, and get the job done, they truly are becoming special talents on their teams.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I like what I am seeing from a lot of kids. You can tell that they are playing with another level of comfort on the floor. Credit the trainers, summer ball, and high school coaches for getting these kids ready. A tough competitor who plays with relentless energy on both ends, she is always in “Go Mode” as she carves up the opposition. Look for her to continue to be an X factor and become a name on college coaches' recruiting boards. She can get paint touches with ease, dial it up from deep, get to the rim and finish, but what truly stands out is her ability to compete at a high level consistently on both ends of the floor. She is a true ball player who plays with grit, and it was on display throughout the team camp. She plays with an edge, relentless energy, that helps uplift her ball club. This kid is a scoring threat from all over the court. Once she gets going, she is tough to stop. Playing with such confidence, she is scorching the bottom of the nets at a high clip. Swish, swish, swish. She is stuffing the stat sheet, helping her ball club along the way. She has had a tremendous summer ball season, and during these team camps, she has been one who has stood out. Her game has grown tremendously. Offensively, she can knock it down from 3, excel at the mid-range, and finish down low. Defensively, she blocks shots, gets steals, and contributes on the boards. She plays with tons of speed, and anytime there is a loose ball situation, this kid pounces on it. She got some time as an 8th grader last year and will look to earn even more time this upcoming season, playing a pivotal role. This kid is going to be the next solid guard from this school. She was knocking down 3's, pulling up from the mid-range in transition, and finishing at the rim. Her defense was stellar as she was creating chaos for the opposition. She is a heady ball player who thrives on challenges. Her game is evolving, and with that, her confidence is rising as well. She will get the opportunity to solidify a ton of minutes and with that the opportunity to make a name for herself amongst district foes.
