This weekend I had the task of evaluating our PGH Victory Region Finals. This weekend was jam packed with action from the 12U level all the way to the 17U level, competing on multiple courts in the Chicagoland area.

Throughout the day I have been taking live-notes on prospects and really diving into what makes each of those players tick. In this article we go-over some of those notes.

#21 - Allison Tate - IL Attack 14U

"Tate is working to become PG #1 as she gets older. She is trusted to be the one to bring up the ball on an average basis and she does a solid job in those aspects on the game. She can also control what is going around her fairly well. She is a willing creator and facilitator, knowing what her team is looking for. It's early on in Tate's career but you see the promise when you watch her compete now. She just needs to continue to work on her game as she gets older."

#32 - [player_tooltip player_id='1215817' first='Campbell' last='Frase'] - [program_tooltip program_id='716040' first='Ignite' last='Hoops'] 14U

"I'm actually confused on how [program_tooltip program_id='716040' first='Ignite' last='Hoops'] 14U didn't bring home their age level's Championship because as a specific team, they are loaded with talent at every position. Someone that does GREAT stuff for them on both sides of the b[program_tooltip program_id='712375' first='All' last='in'] the middle of the lane is [player_tooltip player_id='1215817' first='Campbell' last='Frase'] at the PF position. Frase looks the part. She has natural height, a soft touch with either hand by the hoop, a smart head on her shoulders, and a willingness to adapt to any given moment. This past weekend Frase was extremely efficient in her play-style and it was noteworthy or her Ignite crew."

#23 - [player_tooltip player_id='1217233' first='Ashley' last='Skelton'] - [program_tooltip program_id='716040' first='Ignite' last='Hoops'] 14U

"[player_tooltip player_id='1217233' first='Ashley' last='Skelton'] stands out to me. I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's the natural height she has, the pure ability on and off the ball, or her high end communicating while on the hardwood but Skelton is a standout. She seems to play the game the right way as trying to create and then pass off of two feet on a consistent basis. Her lengthy arm and smooth movement is second to none for her age level and I can't wait to see how she continues to grow on that over-time."

#2 - Averi Dye - Lexington Crossover 2029 UA

"PG #1. Dye knows how to run her team's system, where her teammates are going to be, and where is the best look for them generally on the offensive end. Dye also is a sound defender with her own impressive skill-set with the b[program_tooltip program_id='712375' first='All' last='in'] her possession. This crew loves to give ball-screen to Dye at the top of the key, from there she would end the play in an assist or bucket herself. [program_tooltip program_id='712375' first='All' last='in'] all, great showing from the Crossover this weekend in Chi-town."

#24 - Imani Johnson Sherrod - Team Synergy 14U

"This is a guard that is willing to bring up the ball and run PG or she can move to the 2/3 and still be productive off of the basketball. Her Synergy team loves to run dribble handoff action into a weave and that leaves IJS open for some opportunities while going towards the bucket. IJS is also a sound passer and she is versatile. She will do whatever she needs for her team to succeed and that stands out."

#11 - Samia Stepp - Lexington Crossover 2029 UA

"The pick and roll source on this squad. Someone that is put in screening situations on the outside A LOT and that leads into looks while going toward the hoops the roll. Stepp also showed the ability to be able to know when to slip the screen and when to seal her opponent when she gets stuck behind her. At this age in the post we are looking for the basic and Stepp checks those off. That's for sure."
