Some 2029 Hoopers who could Play Immediately as Freshmen

Sometimes with an incoming freshman class, players who are ranked outside of the top 10 of that class' ranking are not guaranteed to contribute to varsity right away. However, these players have a great chance to play big minutes immediately.    [player_tooltip player_id='1261689' first='Tristyn' last='Moseley'] already has a college offer under her belt, as she had been offered by Ouachita Baptist University before the beginning of her 8th-grade season. OBU now has a new coaching staff, so she will have to prove her worth to the Tigers once again.   Greenbrier graduated the Steele sisters, who were excellent two-way guards who are set to star at nearby Central Baptist College. Moseley should have a great chance to step in as their replacement right away. Though she is primarily a volleyball star, Moseley plays hard on both ends of the floor.   On defense, Moseley applies hounding on-ball defensive pressure and can force turnovers left and right. On the other end, she can use her solid handle and get to her spots on the floor. She knows how to find creases in the defense and exploit them, along with the ability to hit her open teammates with accurate passes.   [player_tooltip player_id='1261689' first='Tristyn' last='Moseley'] could start right away for Greenbrier thanks to her great two-way ability.     [player_tooltip player_id='1056354' first='Amelia' last='Boss'] joins a Bentonville West team that is ready to go ahead and make some noise in the 6A West. With all of the young talent the Lady Wolverines are bringing in, they are bound to make a postseason run soon.   Boss is an excellent inside-out scorer. From the interior, she has proven that she is a tough finisher who holds her concentration through traffic. She enjoys initiating contact, but she can also hit a floater just outside of the teeth of the defense.   The 6'0" forward is an excellent shooter. She has proven that she can knock down 3-pointers off the catch, but she is very comfortable shooting jumpers closer to the basket. Boss has the turnaround jumper in her bag of tricks and can call on that ability if she gets into a jam.   [player_tooltip player_id='1056354' first='Amelia' last='Boss']' scoring will serve her well during her freshman season with an up-and-coming Bentonville West squad.     Southside Charter is made up of a lot of young talent. [player_tooltip player_id='1260352' first='Bella' last='Baxter'] is one of the several young players on this team who has a tremendous amount of potential.   Baxter has been killing it during Southside Charter team camps and with her AAU squad, the Outlaws. It has been apparent thus far that one of Baxter's greatest strengths is her 3-point shooting. She is automatic off the catch and the bounce, killing the defense with her quick release. If the defense sags off of her just a little bit, she will not hesitate to pull it from deep, watching it burn the net on the way down.   With her 5'8" frame, she can attack the basket as well, finishing up and over the defense, not being bothered by contact. Because Baxter is such a strong perimeter shooter, she will find several open lanes to the basket.   [player_tooltip player_id='1260352' first='Bella' last='Baxter'] is expected to contribute right away for Southside Charter, and those fans cannot wait.     Rivercrest graduated some of their best talent from the 2024-25 season, but the team has a bright future, especially with [player_tooltip player_id='1260330' first='Armani' last='Facon'] coming on board.   Facon is actually more of a guard than a forward, but she can play both positions well. She is a tough finisher who absorbs contact and uses her soft touch to get her shot up and over the defense in the paint.   Facon recently graduated from the "Point Guard College," which is an organization that helps young guards learn how to play the point guard position more intelligently. With the expertise that she gained from this camp, I cannot help but think that she will have a leg up on the competition with her ability to read defenses and understand the pace of play.   [player_tooltip player_id='1260330' first='Armani' last='Facon'] is a highly versatile player who could be one of the best players in the 3A-3 this coming season.     It is not often that an incoming freshman has a chance to contribute to a team that is coming off a championship, but [player_tooltip player_id='1260744' first='Hadleigh' last='Herron'] brings in a new element to Izard County's offense and defense, which could blow up the 2A-2.   Herron is coming off a great season with Izard County's Junior High squad, where she earned an all-conference selection. Throughout the year, Herron proved to everyone that she was the most skilled player on the floor.   Against Viola in February, she could not be stopped in the paint, posting 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks. She had multiple offensive rebounds in that game, using her 6'1" frame to soar over the opposition. Herron has a nice touch around the basket, and she can score easily through traffic. She has also shown some craftiness with the ball in her hands, as she can use a pro hop and get to the basket or a pump fake.   On top of being a great post scorer, [player_tooltip player_id='1260744' first='Hadleigh' last='Herron'] is a shot blocker and rebounder. All of these abilities will serve her well as she could be a day-1 starter for the Lady Cougars, who have their eyes set on another championship.
