Jylin "Jigga" Edmonson is arguably one of the best rising 8th graders in the country. A three-level scorer with an advanced feel for putting the ball in the basket and can also make plays for others. She has a high basketball IQ and plays with a level of confidence and poise that most kids don't posses at her age. Her Power 4 potential is undeniable, already holding an SEC offer from Mississippi State. Jigga recently transferred from Franklin County to Boyd County, and her arrival could mark a new chapter for the region. She could be the most highly touted prospect to play in the 16th Region since O.J. Mayo's days at Rose Hill and all signs point to a very special career ahead.

[player_tooltip player_id='1119376' first='La'Kyiah' last='Taylor'] is an electric lead guard with elite ball-handling skills and a lot of shiftiness to her game. She's the type of player who can get to any spot she wants off the bounce, constantly keeping defenders off balance. A high-level facilitator with exceptional court vision. La'Kyiah also finishes really well at the rim, can make shots from the perimeter, and brings relentless energy on the defensive end. She has tremendous upside and is poised to be a bright star in the 11th Region for years to come.

[player_tooltip player_id='1276182' in first='E'liyah' last='Strode'] is a wing/forward with elite athleticism and an incredibly quick second jump, which makes her an explosive rebounder on both ends of the floor. She finishes at a high rate around the rim, has solid footwork in the post, and can score with her back to the basket or face up and elevate over defenders with pull up jumpers in the paint. E'liyah runs the floor hard in transition, can drive and finish through contact, and embraces physicality. She played with the FBC Youngunz 15U squad during the travel season, which features some of the top 2030 talent in the country, including Edmonson and Taylor.

There's been quite a buzz surrounding [player_tooltip player_id='1276179' first='Scarlett' last='Thauberger'] this summer, and it's been nothing but high praise. A talented young guard, she can score from all over the floor, has excellent handles, and is a creative finisher at the rim with either hand. Scarlett should see meaningful minutes for Mercy Academy this season and looks poised to be a mainstay in the 6th region.

The future of the 15th Region is in good hands with a player like [player_tooltip player_id='1176086' first='Mylee' last='Colegrove']. One of the top scorers in the region as just a 7th grader, she averaged a team-leading 16.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Mylee is a confident, volume three-point shooter who isn't afraid to let it fly. She had several 20+ point games last season, including a career-high 29-point outing. Mylee will continue to put the state on notice as her career moves along.
