During my three days of watching the action at the Run 4 Roses in Louisville, I came across a group of players who fit into one of my favorite categories; those physical post players. These young ladies are not afraid to reach out and touch somebody in the low post. They are tough and they like to move people around. Here are some of those players.

[player_tooltip player_id='493496' first='Kumani' last='Clark'] (MO Phenom 17U/Baggett): The 6'2" 2026 power forward from Battle has battled back from knee injuries to once again be an impact player at both ends of the court. When she grabs a rebound, everyone clears out of the way because nobody is getting the ball away from her. She shows good mobility on defense to be in position to block shots. She seals defenders well in the post and she can finish with a drop step or on a short fadeaway jumper in the lane. She is also a great screener who frees up her teammates for open looks on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='913073' first='Saniah' last='Jones'] ([program_tooltip program_id='712484' first='Della' last='Lamb'] 15U): The 5'11" 2028 forward was a dominant all weekend in leading Della to a 15U Platinum Division championship. She was tough to handle around the basket as she used her strength to overpower defenders with drops steps to the basket. Her footwork is also very good as she can also play the finesse game. She also drives it well from the high post to score with both hands. She is also a tremendous passer with good court vision. She found open cutters time after time with some laser dimes from the high post.

[player_tooltip player_id='1245415' first='Simone' last='Walker'] (MO Phenom 15U EYBL): The 6'2" 2027 forward from Rock Bridge holds down things in the middle for a very talented Phenom EYBL team. On a team full of talented shooters and perimeter players, she provides the physical presence in the paint. Even against taller players, she uses her strength and positioning to move people around in the low post. When she gets a touch, she can score with a variety of moves. She is also a capable ball handler and passer on the perimeter when she's called up to do so.

[player_tooltip player_id='1233488' first='Erin' last='Donald'] (Phee Elite 15U/Wilkenson): A 6'3" 2029 forward who is headed to Incarnate Word Academy, Donald plays up with a very good 15U Phee team. She is a very talented young post player who's not afraid to move people around like furniture in her pursuit for post position and rebounds. She is skilled offensively with good footwork and the ability to score with either hand. She's a good screener who catches the ball well on the roll down to score. Her future is very bright as a Division I prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='929528' first='Avery' last='Young'] ([program_tooltip program_id='712484' first='Della' last='Lamb'] 17U Gold): A 5'9" 2026 forward from Notre Dame de Sion who is a blue collar, physical player with a strong motor. She embraces her role on the team very well, which is set tough screens, rebound the basketball and play as physical as possible. She also runs the court hard with each change of possession. She was very impressive in her role, which helps her team.

Rian Lenox ([program_tooltip program_id='713121' first='Lady' last='Brad Beal Elite'] 16U): A 5'9" 2027 forward from Lift for Life who is one of the best rebounders that I watched over the weekend. She is fully capable of getting things done against much taller players because she is physically strong and her effort is relentless, especially when she's rebounding out of her area. She is also starting to add a little offense to her game as she was attacking off the dribble from the high post.

[player_tooltip player_id='967222' first='Libby' last='O'Donnell'] (Phee Elite 16U/Olufson): A 6'0" 2027 forward from Incarnate Word who has a good combination of physical strength and mobility, which makes her a very effective player. She plays with a strong motor as she gives young second and third efforts on the offensive boards. She also runs the floor hard in transition. She gets good position to score in the low post and she can also step out and knock down the perimeter jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='921823' first='Bella' last='Campbell'] (MO Phenom 15U EYCL): A 5'10" 2029 forward from Rolla who is tough and embraces the physical play around the basket. She finds way to score around the basket, either with the drop step or the scoop shot with her opposite hand. She is also very skilled on the perimeter as she can attack and score off the dribble. She has a very nice spin move in the lane and she can also step out and hit the 3-pointer.

Jakala Wright (KC Dream 15U/Webb): A 6'1" 2029 post player who will be headed to Park Hill. She's is strong and she rebounds the ball very well. When she establishes her position, it is hard to move her out of her space. I was very impressed with her passing ability. She spent much of the game in the high post and she made some excellent passes to open shooters. She ended up scoring the winning basket in the Platinum championship game.
