Saturday Standouts From TJ Showcase pt 1

I had a chance to catch quite a few players, many of whom I hadn't seen. I previously dropped 5 or 6 articles, mostly on the younger players, and you can revisit them by using the search bar and typing in TJ Showcase but here ya go    Reid read the floor on both ends, her court vision was solid, and she played the passing lane, but she also understood positioning and was able to outrebound taller players. Her first step is nice, and she took the defender off the dribble to score, solid body control on her finishes     Sanford is one of those players who understands simple things that turn out to be huge. She plays within herself and she can get hers "in the flow". She's an athletic guard who uses her athleticism on both ends, yet her court vision stood out. She made plays, scored off the dribble, and defended "on the ball"     Xu attacked the basket from multiple spots to score, and her body control after contact played a part in her finishing after the lick. Her deceptive first step was nice; she also saw the floor and played solid defense in the set. On top of that, she hit the boards on both ends     Toney set the defender up nicely in the set to attack and score, but her "on the ball" pressure showed me she could bring heat on both ends. She picked some pockets for steals, played the passing lane for some, and her timing to block shots was equally impressive     Cramer has been working on her "stop and pop" in transition, and it's creating some problems for defenders. Her "on the ball" pressure has also gotten better, and so have her "quick hands" to come away with steals. Her court vision across the board looked good, and she scored off the dribble     Olds keeps showing me something new, and yeah, her slight HEZ to get the defender off balance so she could attack and score was nice. She can drop the mid to long-range, catch and shoot included, her court vision in transition, as well as in the set, looked good yet her "stop and pop" jumper was clicking and she played the passing lane     Morris has been a pleasant surprise for me this season and she's "long and athletic" and a couple of shades shy of "the magic number" the thing about her is that she plays taller and battles for rebounds. She also defends inside and outside the paint but watch her score off the dribble as well as drop the jumper, catch and shoot included, had me smiling     Griffin continues to elevate her game and what's also impressive is her ability to play multiple positions well. She can defend inside the paint, as well as baseline to baseline. She rebounds and handles the ball afterward but her court vision has also shot up, as well as her creating her shot and dropping it while being defended. she also did a good job scoring off the dribble
