Southern Arizona class of 2029 Players to Watch

As we approach the new school year, basketball season will be here before you know it. There are several incoming freshmen that will be counted on to make significant contributions to their respective high school teams. Here are a few of the 2029's that I feel will be on Varsity rosters come November.    Jayda Nelson is a multi-sport athlete that I believe will see some playing time as a freshman for Southern Arizona powerhouse Salpointe. Jayda is a seasoned player that has been playing year-round for a few years and she is a very focused and driven athlete. She is very good for her age at shooting, driving and finishing, and defensive technique and mindset. Jayda is someone who will give Salpointe added depth and be a player that will continue to grow and develop. Jayda has incredible potential and will have a stellar career for the Lancers. Stay tuned.     Kayla Del Rio has a reputation in Southern Arizona basketball circles as a highly driven and motivated player that will do whatever it takes to establish herself as a dominant player. She will definitely see some Varsity minutes a s a freshman for Salpointe. She is a highly skilled ball handler that can see the floor well and distribute to open teammates with consistency. She is a very good shooter especially from the 3-point line. She is a solid defender and can play multiple positions. She will be one of the best to come out of Salpointe when it's all said and done.     Jordan Gonzales is another multi-sport athlete that will see extensive varsity minutes as a freshman. Jordan is an excellent point guard that has a high basketball IQ. She sees the floor well especially on the move in fast break situations. She is a solid shooter especially from the 3-point line, and she is excellent finishing on the fast break. She is a good defender and can cover both guard positions. Playing multiple sports helps her with basketball because she is very versatile and agile especially lately in games.     Lolly Morales will be an impact player right out of the gate for whatever High School she decides to attend. She is a long Small Forward that can stretch the floor with her shooting and play-making ability. She is a very good defender and rebounder. She can play and defend several positions and will add tremendous depth to a Varsity lineup. She is a very driven and motivated player that will continue to develop her skills and raise her game.     [player_tooltip player_id='1255435' first='Peyton' last='Wilmore'] will be another valuable asset to the Salpointe program that will add depth and young talent to a loaded roster. I believe she will see some Varsity minutes this season and will be able to make an impact. She is a very good shooter from all 3 levels. She can play both guard positions and small forward if needed, and she can defend those positions as well. She has been putting a lot of time into her game the last few years and it has paid off. She will be one of the top freshman in Southern Arizona this season in my opinion and be another player that has the potential to play on the next level.
