I know school is just starting and kids are getting back into the swing of things, but I wanted to give a few shout-outs to some highly touted student-athletes. Before I do, I know there are plenty of 26s put there getting interest from schools. My advice to you is this: take as many visits as possible so you can get a true feel of a campus. If it feels like home and the coaching staff treats you right, then that is probably the place for you. Secondly, run your race. Don't get caught up in what you see on social media or what another kid may have received. You are just as blessed as they are, and you can control what you can control. So whatever these coaches' staff see in someone else or see in you, that's their perception, and they have their reasoning for things. For instance, you may want to go to UCONN. Yet, UCONN is looking for a 3 and D girl. Are you that? So, keep grinding, and your time will come.

When I do these articles, I know I don't include everyone who has received opportunities. I apologize ahead of time, but also congratulations. You have accomplished a dream of yours and have added your name to a sorority of young ladies who have hooped in this state and have gone on to play collegiate ball at the next level. Your name will forever be linked not only to your school, but to other student-athletes alike who have accomplished this great feat. No matter the level, you do matter, and it is a great honor to play ball at the next level.

As I mentioned earlier, I will miss some names. As the school year starts rolling, we will give flowers to those who will go on to play at the next level in the 2026 class. Without further ado, I would like to mention some kids who have balled out this summer and have made their commitment to an institution to continue their education as well as their athletic careers. Here are just a few girls from the 2026 class who are going to play ball at the next level.

You can call her a floor general, but I will call her a lady warrior. This kid can hoop point blank. I will never forget the first time I saw this young lady. It was a Gatlinburg tournament, and back then, she was suiting up for GP. I can't recall the opponent, but her team was pressing. She came down, got a lay, got into her position on the press, got a steal, lay, back into the press, got another steal, and then a lay. Within a matter of seconds, this young lady on her own expanded her club's lead just like that. Now, it's not like she is the biggest kid on the court (has the biggest heart), but she plays with a motor, is fiery, and truly is one of the most selfless ballplayers I know. She will be attending UAB after this year, and they are getting someone who will be a captain of the team one day. She's a leader who can do all things: score, assists, and defend. A dynamic two-way player who is going to give it all she has.

This young lady will be soaring at Tennessee Tech. She, too, is a PG who I have said in earlier writing, is a magician with the ball. She can score it at will, but attacking the rim and throwing a behind-the-back pass, over-the-shoulder pass, or simply dumping it off, well, her ability to make timely assists is crazy good. She just goes out and plays and doesn't second-guess herself. She lets her athletic ability take over, and watching her play is like watching a conductor conduct a symphony. She will be a great addition to the TTU program and will go in there ready to compete right away. Until then, she will look to lead PC this year back to state contention.

An all-around ballplayer who can score the rock from multiple spots on the floor. This kid is a sharpshooter, and when the ball hits her hands and she is in position to go up with it, swish, nothing but net. She can also put it on the floor and create for herself. My point is that she is special when she touches the ball. She's a gym rat who has elevated her game to new heights. She will be taking her talents to Starkville, where she will be suiting up for the Lady Dogs. They are getting a kid who is going to give 110% at everything she does. A hard-working kid who will be a solid contributor to their program.

Belmont is getting a true gem when it comes to this young lady. She has such a pretty jumper from the mid-range. How she elevates above her opponents is crazy. When she attacks from the arc, you don't know if she is about to pull it, stop and pop, or slice to the rim. She plays D, where she gets a ton of steals and deflections. She has great reactionary skills, where she is always in a helpside position to jump gaps if she is off-ball. She is going to be a great addition to the Lady Bruins. They are getting a great kid and an outstanding student athlete.

This young lady will be a nice addition to a solid up-and-coming program. KM has done nothing but get better each year and every. I am talking about adding moves to her bag and becoming an even more dominant post player than the year before. She started off just being a menace on the boards, then it went to the offense running through her. She had mastered the back to the basket drop steps and going over either shoulder. Now, she has a nice jumper and can stretch the floor out as well. Her presence has helped the Lady Lions reach incredible heights her tenure so far. Look for her to have a stellar senior season and be truly dominant this last go around.
