2028 Update – Lesser Known Guards Poised for Great Seasons

I wanted to highlight a group of players who are solid contributors for their teams but might not get as much coverage. She played a ton last year as a freshman and had many great moments. She is incredibly quick and fast and plays with an impressive fearless quality. I like her ability to dribble through full-court presses and get her team into her offense. I anticipate her taking a big leap this year and becoming Legacy's primary ball-handler. She has an impressive frame and is a strong guard. She is hard to take the ball from and utilizes her strength to maintain possession on offense. She moves well and can defend smaller guards, but also competes with forwards. She is one of their primary ball-handlers and is a quality guard. She is a quick guard and does a nice job of pushing the ball in transition. I like her defensively as well. She moves her feet well and is a pest to try and get past defensively. I spoke with her coach this summer and he said he is excited for the progress Abby has made. She is good point guard and someone her coach can trust with the ball. She is a great second option to All-State teammate [player_tooltip player_id='935273' first='Violet' last='Richman']. The combo guards will make Maple River difficult to press in the full-court. She is a really talented player and I really appreciate how hard she plays and how coachable she is. She is very fundamentally sound and has really good footwork. She is excellent playing off of two feet and limiting her turnovers. She started a majority of the games last season and is ready to be a more consistent presence on the court. In my opinion, she is one year away from being an All-EDC selection. She will be a third option to two stellar senior teammates, but will have to take over the scoring after they graduate. She is longer than her 5'8 listing and it wouldn't surprise me if she gets listed at 5'9 or 5'10 this year. I feel if she can gain some strength then she is going to be an incredibly good high school player and could see herself rising in the rankings in the future. She has great speed and athleticism and isn't afraid to drive against older and more physical opponents.
