EYG Clinic- Middle School Stars Step Up

Once again Bruno Corras of [program_tooltip program_id='715208' first='Elevate' last='Elite'] and his group put together an excellent two-day clinic that featured quite a few strong prospects. I attended the Sunday session and came away impressed with the organization of the clinic and the competitiveness that is demanded. The drills were useful and created a competitive environment. Some of the younger players from the middle school group were quite talented and put on a good show. Here are some names to remember.

Mia Lawson, 2030, Point Guard, Philly Rise

Very fun and intriguing player to watch. She controls the pace of the game, has tremendous speed and is very skillful. She's small but it doesn't matter, she can hoop.

[player_tooltip player_id='1240932' first='Laila' last='Perry'], 2030, Guard, [program_tooltip program_id='815866' first='Team' last='Durant']

Explosive athlete that is oozing with potential. She showed off a strong first step, good upper body strength, and the ability to finish through contact. She has some big-time high schools in pursuit and it's easy to see why.

[player_tooltip player_id='1320128' first='Madelyn' last='Sundra'], 2030, Guard, Loudon Flexx

Madelyn caught my eye immediately with her versatility. She is fundamentally sound, can shoot from deep and is a good finisher at the basket. She has a good first step and knows how to create space.

[player_tooltip player_id='1319852' first='Kimaya' last='Hogan'], 2030, Guard, New World

Kimaya competed at a high level and was unstoppable in transition. She's fast and explosive and was a match up nightmare for most of the defenders she encountered.

[player_tooltip player_id='1090705' first='Jada' last='Royal'], 2030, Guard, [program_tooltip program_id='1105323' first='Cap' last='City Ballerz']

Jada did a little bit of everything which made her stand out. She made shots, delivered accurate passes, showed off good instincts and defended at a high level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1318659' first='Italee' last='Fowler'], 2031, Guard, Virginia, Puma Nxt Foundation Academy

Fearless guard that stayed in attack mode all day. She has excellent ball handling skills and can make shots on the move or spotting up. She was a problem because of her energy and persistence. She set the tone on both ends of the court.
