The first Saturday of September was Freshman Showcase Day across the Carolinas.

With the Rock Hill Sports Center providing a plush scene for the day's festivities, plenty of 2029s from both North and South Carolina had their balling shoes on for one of the region's signature showcase events.

It was one of several Freshman Showcase events that took place around the country. Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Colorado and Indiana also hosted similar events. Next weekend will see Freshman Showcase season conclude in Texas, Minnesota and Missouri-Kansas.

We began our post-Carolinas Freshman Showcase coverage with a look at Team 1 and now shift our attention to Team 2.

Chambers is a two-sport athlete who not only excels on the basketball hardwood but on the softball diamond as well. She has also spent time playing volleyball. Listed at 5-foot-3, Chambers can be dangerous when she has the ball behind the 3-point arc with the accuracy she possesses. One of her favorite places to drain 3-pointers from is the wing. Chambers has the ability to dribble the ball with her left hand and finish with her right. She also understands how to draw contact and get to the free throw line. This past AAU season, she wore the uniform of Team 252 Lady Hurricanes 14U.

Both Burton and her Northwest Cabarrus team are transitioning to new chapters. Burton is leaving the middle school ranks at J.N. Fries MS to begin her high school journey with the Trojans. Northwest Cabarrus itself is moving up from 3A to 5A and is in a 4A/5A conference. Along with Burton's prowess as a scorer, she has proven herself to be a very efficient passer. The speed and quickness she possesses is another strong point to her overall game. Burton ran with Charlotte Monarchs on the grassroots circuit and will be a worthwhile addition to a Trojans team that finished 20-6 last season.

There were fewer teams that won the offseason across the Palmetto State than 5A Division 1 River Bluff. Childers was one of the big additions the Gators made that will surely vault them to contender status in a tough region. With Childers, one gets accurate passing, plenty of defense and a consistent threat to place crooked numbers on the scoreboard. Locating open teammates and taking care of the ball are hallmarks to her overall game. In addition to wearing River Bluff's colors, she also sports the red, white and blue hues of [program_tooltip program_id='783909' first='Palmetto' last='76ers/A'ja Wilson Elite'] during the spring and summer months.

Riggenbach completed an impressive career at Lincoln Charter MS that included back-to-back undefeated seasons and a 49-2 mark over the three seasons she was in the middle school ranks. Riggenbach now moves onto a Lincoln Charter team that will participate in the high school ranks moving up from 2A to 4A. She displays impressive ball handling skills and can make things happen either by finding lanes to the rim or by connecting on 3point attempts. Getting to the free throw line is another strong element of her game. Riggenbach played with Nike team Carolina Hornets during the club season.
