Headliners Invitational Cheat Sheet: Combo Guards

The Headliners Invitational Showcase was a groundbreaking experience in 2023--it's back and better than ever. My definition of a prospective showcase includes three elements: 1) College caliber players, 2) College Coaches, and 3) Media Exposure from a respected source in the high schools girls basketball recruiting arena. The Headliners Invitational checks all three boxes and then some. 19 colleges from D2, D3, NAIA, NCCAA, and JUCO college programs in Michigan have pre-registered to recruit at this [program_tooltip program_id='923712' first='Prepare' last='2 Win Basketball'] Showcase. College coaches who have pre-registered to attend the event will be provided a hard copy recruiting packet with all the information necessary to evaluate during the event and contact prospects afterwards. The event format is EXACTLY what I believe needs to be present to 1) Thoroughly evaluate a prospect, 2) Fully demonstrate a prospects recruitable qualities, and 3) Cultivate a connection with college coaches. Everything about this showcase is intentional and nothing is being done in a haphazard manner. College coaches will lead prospects during the skill stations and coach the players during games. Maximum ball touches have been built into this event through stations, 3v3, and 5v5 play. There will be a Headliners Invitational MVP selected for both sessions and FREE access to film following the event on SnipBack. The anticipation is building, so...without further ado, let's take a sneak peak at several combo guard prospects competing during session one at the [program_tooltip program_id='923712' first='Prepare' last='2 Win Basketball'] "Headliners Invitational Showcase"!    Olivia came to the PGH Freshman Showcase and turned in a complete performance that earned her recognition as a Top Performer. She's effective running the one or playing off the ball. Olivia has great rebounding instincts, passing vision, and finishes well at the rim. She's a prospect who should be one of the better two-way guards at the Headliners Invitational this Sunday.     Alexandra is playing up with the high schoolers and I have no doubts that she's going to fit right in. Al's length and full-speed style of play will definitely turn some heads. Her explosive drives, finishes, perimeter shooting, and rebounding were electric at GVSU Elite Camp. I'm excited to see how she looks with the older group at the Headliners Invitational.     Kennedy is coming to Portland High School and if our first Headliners Invitational was any indicator--she's going to light it up for the Raiders as a freshman. Kennedy buried four triples in one game at the last showcase, demonstrated outstanding handles, and finished effectively at the rim. She's a guard I'm excited to see on Sunday.     Vanessa is a guard who can facilitate, shoot, and make all the effort plays. She's a poised ball-handler with a balanced shot that makes her a threat from three-point range. Vanessa chases down rebounds and loose balls. She has a few showcases under her belt and I'm excited to see her compete at the Headliners Invitational.     Rilynn was a Top Performer at the PGH Expo and she's a multi-dimensional playmaker that I'm excited to watch again at the Headliners Inviational. Rilynn drives hard downhill to score layups, shoots confidently from beyond the arc, dishes the rock to open teammates, and works hard on the defensive end. She's a 1-2 guard who will draw attention on Sunday.     Ava is back for her second Headliners Invitational and she made a great first impression in 2023. Her fancy finishes, confident ball-handling, and perimeter shooting stood out. Ava competes hard and is capable of running the one or two guard spots. I'm excited to see her compete on Sunday.     Taylor is going to make an immediate impact for her high school team as a freshman and she had a phenomenal day at the PGH Freshman Showcase. Taylor was a Top Performer and absolutey shredded the nets from three-point distance. She caused turnovers with her active defense and slung the ball all over the court to open teammates. Taylor is a combo-guard who could give the upper classmen more than they can handle at the Headliners Invitational.     Gabriella has length, athleticism, and fundamental skills that make her a prototypical college guard. Gabriella is the marquee 2026 guard attending the Headliners Invitational and I would not be surprised to see her leave with additional offers after the event. She's a downhill slasher with a good pull-up jumper and effective footwork. Gabriella finishes with strength at the rim off two feet and impacts games on the defensive end. She makes the hustle plays and is a determined rebounder. College coaches who missed Gabby up to this point are in for a great surprise.
