Here we have a few prospects out of the 2027 Class in Iowa that will hold their own this Winter on their Varsity squads. This can mean that the player put up crazy numbers all around or in a specific category last Winter and they are looking to build onto that over the next eight months once again.

[player_tooltip player_id='1240863' first='Shallie' last='Wilders'] of North Union High School recorded 121 Assists last Winter as a Sophomore. This ranked Wilders as the #2 overall prospect out of the 2027 Class in Assists on the Winter last year. Which is a pretty impressive number to post from an outsider perspective. Now it's all about how she can hold her own this upcoming season. When North Union has success, Wilders is a main piece to that puzzle. She is their heartbeat and running force as a facilitator. She controls how the game is going in every facet when the ball is in her possession and I expect much of the same this upcoming Winter season.

It's safe to say that [player_tooltip player_id='832204' first='Rylee' last='Mudderman'] of Kee High School is one of the top on-ball defenders that the state of Iowa has to offer at this time. Mudderman led the 2027 Class in Iowa in Steals last Winter with 147 on her season. Mudderman's mixture of knowledge of the game, fast hands, and quick feet make her a nightmare for shaky ball-handlers. She understands where the opponent is going to put the ball while doing certain moves, really demonstrating how well she can pick up opponent's tendencies in a small amount of time. With Kee's system and the natural instincts of Mudderman, this is like a match made in heaven. Now hopefully this season they can build on what they have already put in place in year's past.

[player_tooltip player_id='1325655' first='Isabella' last='Stika'] is a high end rebounder on both ends of the floor. She showed us this ability not only last year but as a Freshman as well. On the season last Winter, Stika brought in right around 325 Rebounds on the year. Which is another impressive number comparing that the next best rebounder for the 2027 Class was right around 275. Stika is their force in the middle at Turkey Valley. She handles both ends at a high rate because she has too honestly. She is someone who is always looking to rebound and push the tempo down the floor. She knows how to box out before attacking the glass and that is crucial in her success. There is a lot to like from Stika at this point in her career. If she keeps working on her weaknesses, who knows what numbers she might put up over the next 24 months.

[player_tooltip player_id='833956' first='Kaitlin' last='Loria'] is going to be a steal for a collegiate program out there one day. Loria is an underrated SF at the height of 5'10-5'11. Loria has been a force to deal with over the past two years at the Varsity level at IC - City High and I'm sure that will stay consistent over the next two seasons. Loria has touch around the hoop, great footwork, better than average physicality, and an act for getting her hands on a lot of rebounds on both sides of the basketball. She has also proven that she doesn't need to be the team's star prospect to produce. Instead, she just handles her own and makes the most of her opportunities. Last Winter she scored the rock at over at 52% rate from the field, ranking her in the Top Five for that category out of this Class. A number she will be able to build on this upcoming season as long as her team's system focus's on getting the ball to the Post in some way.

If you are looking at the 2027 Class specifically, you see the name [player_tooltip player_id='832210' first='Taryn' last='Petersen']. Petersen competes for Exira-EHK High School and she puts up some numbers. Even saying that she puts up "some numbers" might even be an understatement. Petersen finished off her season last Winter while putting up 539 Points (leads the 2027 Class), 143 Steals (2nd in the 2027 Class), & 191 FG made (leads the 2027 Class). These numbers might not seem crazy to some but they are impressive considering that this is Exira's main source of production on both offense and defense. Looking at the crew that this school will return this Winter, I'm sure that we will see more numbers like this from Petersen in general. We just need to sit back, relax, and watch how these things unfold over the next eight months.
