The EXPO KS/MO: 3 vs 3 Standouts

Our Kansas and Missouri Expo brought out many great athletes who displayed skill, IQ, and a good understanding of the game. These athletes competed to the highest level in each opportunity given during the day. After introductions, warmups, and some skill drills, we were able to see some intense 3v3 games. This article takes a look at some of the EXPO's top athletes in the 3v3 games.      Macyn had her full game on display during our 3v3 sessions. She displayed strength by playing through contact while getting to the basket to finish. She showed her understanding of the game by making good reads and decisions with the ball. She showcased her shooting ability from midrange and deep. She was very active on defense with her hands and feet, which led to a ton of deflections and turnovers.       Wittkop played with a high motor and high intensity level throughout the EXPO, but especially during 3v3. She harassed ball handlers, forcing them into bad shots and turnovers. She was around every loose ball and showed her exceptional ability to rebound as a guard. Delaney also displayed a really solid handle as she was able to counter defense consistently to get to the basket and finish.       Main is a tough, strong, and fearless point guard who did not shy away from contact at all during the Expo. She used floaters to avoid getting too deep where shot blockers would be. She played off two feet very well, which allowed her to counter defenders and create advantages for easier shot attempts. Mikenna facilitated her group as well, directing them during pick and rolls, where she was able to make quick reads to the big for pocket passes or over the top for easy layups. She was an absolute hound on defense, also.       Grace is a lengthy wing that showed good bounce off the dribble and a very quick first step. She played through the contact, got to the basket, and showed her finishing abilities in a variety of ways. Grace had a few tough finishes mid-air around defenders. She had a firm and controlled handle going either direction and good range on her shot. She was also very unselfish and made good decisions when she didn't have scoring opportunities.       A smooth lefty that showed her ability to do a little bit of everything during the 3v3 session of the Expo. She played under control and at her own pace. She did a great job of changing pace on offense, keeping defenders off balance and guessing. She showed an ability to bang down low, but also used great footwork to counter. McCarty showed great instincts on the defensive end, showing passing lanes and blowing up plays before they got started. Taylor also delivered several long-range threes throughout the segment.
