2025 3rd Annual Ohio Tip-Off Classic Standouts

PrepGirlsHoops was honored to attend and cover the 2025 3rd Annual Ohio Tip-Off Classic at Hiram College on Sunday November 23. This event features eight Northeast Ohio teams that tipped off their 2025-26 season inside Price Gymnasium. The following teams competed in the event: Revere, Lakewood, Warren JFK, Aurora, Walsh Jesuit, Ursuline, Twinsburg, and Archbishop Hoban. Each of these programs had a number of standout prospects that caught our eyes in this Sunday afternoon showcase.    Rorabaugh is a good paint presence who understands how to use her body to create inside position in the post. She is elite at using her size and height to finish around the rim. Rorabaugh also showed she can hit the three-pointer with her extended range. Defensively, she understands coverages and brings energy to that end of the floor.     Morrison is the primary point guard for the Minutemen. She is a crafty guard who uses her speed and creativity to finish around other bigs in the paint. Morrison is a confident guard who can create for herself and facilitate for others. She demonstrated a confident and pure stroke, hitting her free throws. Morrison also displayed her shot-making ability, knocking down a midrange jump shot. Defensively, Morrison is a leader with her high basketball IQ and displays it by communicating and playing with toughness in gaps.     Doxley is the primary point guard for Lakewood, who made huge impacts on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she doesn't let her size deter her, using her ball-handling and speed to convert inside baskets. She demonstrates elite ball control and balance, finishing through contact with either hand at the rim. Doxley also shows she has great chemistry with her teammates, being a playmaker for herself and others in the halfcourt. She plays continuously on both ends of the floor, crashing for offensive rebounds and fighting for putbacks. Defensively, Doxley is an outstanding pressure defender who uses her defensive instincts to force turnovers, looking to get out and score in transition. Doxley plays the game with a level of energy you can't teach, as she approaches it with a high competitive motor. Doxley had a huge impact in Lakewood's win 53-31 over Revere on Sunday.     Hueter is a standout two-way forward who makes her presence felt on both ends of the floor for Lakewood. Offensively, Hueter is an elite passer out of the high post and in dribble handoff situations. She displayed outstanding chemistry with her point guard, Doxley, in the halfcourt. Hueter uses her body and size to carve out position in the paint to score around the rim. Hueter is an elite rebound-and-run forward who can get up the court quickly and score in transition under control. Defensively, Hueter is a pressure defender who moves her feet well, staying with smaller guards, and reacts quickly, using her lengthy frame to contest shots at the basket. Hueter had a huge impact on Lakewood's win on Sunday.     Andrea "Didi" Ryan plays with a relentless motor and a contagious level of energy on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she has a high basketball IQ, knowing when to pull up for her jump shot. Ryan displayed a mechanically pure shooting stroke from deep on her three-point shot. She is also able to use her quickness to get around defenders and finish with ease around the basket. Ryan likes to get involved in each play, playing with energy off the ball as a cutter looking to score. Defensively, she is a pesky defender who can contain the ball in a full-court press, forcing pickups and turnovers. Ryan was all over the court in the 57-49 win for Warren John F Kennedy on Sunday.     Pompelia is a two-way forward who is very capable of being a ball handler and playing off the ball. Offensively, she is a strong forward who can convert at the rim with either hand through contact. Pompelia loves to play fast and look to score in transition on leak-out opportunities. She is a very strong ball handler and passer for her position and can get her teammates the ball in rhythm. Pompelia has great chemistry offensively with Ryan as they often play off each other's movement in the halfcourt. Defensively, Pompelia is an elite defender who moves her feet and can contain the drive. She uses her length to force pickups and cause turnovers.     Pierce is a leader with the ball in her hands. She plays under control and attacks the rim with purpose, looking to score each time. Pierce is a gamer who wants to step up and hit the biggest shots for her team! She plays with a continuous motor, crashing the offensive glass for rebounds and putbacks. In the halfcourt, Pierce knows when to rise for her jump shot, displaying a pure stroke from behind the arc, hitting timely shots for her team. Pierce had a big impact on both ends for Aurora in Sunday's game!     Despite the loss, Witting was the Player of the Game for Aurora. She is a strong transition scorer who can convert at the rim under control. Offensively, Witting is a consistent scoring presence for her team, knowing when to pull up for her jump shot and when to attack the basket. She is also a phenomenal facilitator, making timely passes and getting her teammates involved on each play. Defensively, she moves her feet very well and contains ball handlers with her speed and agility. Witting was all over the court on both ends, making plays for her team!     Webb is a lengthy forward who rebounds well outside of her area. She is elite at finishing in the paint with either hand through contact. Webb displays great energy and a continuous motor around the basket as an offensive rebounder and putback finisher. She is also stellar running the floor and finishing around the rim in transition. Webb's best attribute is her ability to find her teammates and set them up with timely passes. She is impactful on both ends of the floor for her team. With her measurements and skill set, Webb will continue to be an intriguing player to watch throughout her junior year at Walsh Jesuit!     DiGennaro impressed with her high motor and energy on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she keeps the ball high, displays excellent footwork in the paint, and finishes well through contact at the rim. DiGennaro seeks out contact on her shot, going into contact to draw the foul. She has pure shot mechanics on her jump shot and her free throws. Defensively, she uses her length and quickness very effectively to challenge drivers and change their direction on drives. She is a pressure defender who closes out with high hands and is elite at contesting jump shots.     Hering a key senior leader for Walsh Jesuit. Offensively, she is a elite attacking the basket off the drive, looking to score and set her teammates up with the pass. She battles on the offensive glass, covering putbacks and making winning plays for her team. Defensively, she is a strong defender who can pressure the ball forcing pickups on the press. Hering plays with a lot of energy on the defensive end of the floor, making opponents question if they should attack her with the dribble. Hering is gearing up to be another key prospect for the Walsh Jesuit Warriors this 2025-26 season.     Esterak was the Player of the Game for the Walsh Jesuit Warriors! She can create for herself off the dribble and is elite at finishing through contact at the rim. Esterak plays with high energy on both ends of the court. Defensively, she is at her best when forced to stop straight-line drives. Esterak is an outstanding defender who gets low in her stance and forces the opponent to give up the ball. Her defense was the key to Walsh Jesuit's 53-32 win over Ursuline on Sunday.     Green was the Player of the Game for Ursuline in the loss on Sunday. She loves to have the ball in her hands on the offensive end and looks for opportunities to attack off the dribble at every chance she gets. Green is an athletic finisher around the rim and showed outstanding concentration to cover a three-pointer while absorbing the foul. Defensively, she looks to matchup against the opponents best player and own her matchup on that end of the floor. Green played with a different motor and level of energy that was noticeable from the opening tip. Even as a freshman, she was clearly the best player on the floor all game for Ursuline!     Dye doesn't let her small stature deter her from having a huge impact on the floor. Offensively, Dye has elite ball control and the ability to finish in the halfcourt and on the fastbreak. She seeks out the opportunity to hit the big shots for her team. Defensively, Dye is a relentless pressure defender who looks to force pickups immediately upon showing pressure. She plays with a level of fire to her game that you can't coach. Dye made all the hustle and winning plays on the court for the Tigers.     Cellura was one of the more impressive prospect in the showcase! She was in the middle of almost every play on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she uses her length and height to finish with strength through contact at the rim. Cellura is a more than capable ball hander for her position and puts pressure on the defense when she decides to attack the basket. Her speed and fluidity for her size greatly impresses. Defensively, she is capable of defending the post with her size as well as stepping out and covering shooters on switches. Cellura is more than willing to dive on the floor and make selfless winning plays for her team. Cellura's skillset along with her measurements make her an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on during her 2025-26 senior season for the Tigers!     Sweeney was one of the best prospects from the showcase on Sunday. She was one of the best pressure defenders I have ever watched in-person! Her ability to cut off drives and pressure the basketball was unlike any other player on the day. Sweeney takes her matchup personally as she sits low in a stance and lets very little get by her. Off the ball, she is a elite at staying active in help and in the gaps showing she is an all-around star defender. Offensively, she can also handle any type of pressure she faces when handling the ball. Sweeney is able to break pressure keeping the offensive play alive finding teammates and her own shot in the halfcourt. No other point guard was able to handle the ball and apply the type of pressure that Sweeney was able to all day. Sweeney is committed to playing softball at Slippery Rock University.     Davis was one of the most intriguing prospects all day at the Sunday showcase. She plays the game at a level that is beyond her competition! Offensively, Davis is an ultra elite ball handler who zips passes to her teammates quickly and on target. She has a very high basketball IQ and demonstrates it by seeing the right play before it happens. Davis has next-level speed and the ability to create her own shot off the dribble. Watching her play against Sweeney was the best matchup of the day as both highly competitive athletes went after each other all game! Defensively, Davis looks forward to guarding the other team's best player as she showed her competitive fire multiple times throughout the evening. She is a resounding full-court defender who applies pressure, seeking out the opportunity to force turnovers. Davis was one of the best guards at the showcase and looks to turn many heads during her junior year at Archbishop Hoban.     Grant has elite length and height for her position. Offensively, she uses her height and strength to finish well through contact at the rim. Grant is an active forward who uses her speed and quickness to finish around opposing bigs. Defensively, she has active feet and uses her size to challenge shooters in the paint. Davis is elite on the defensive end cutting off basket drives and using her length to contest shooters on closeouts. Davis is looking to turn many heads during her senior season at Archbishop Hoban.
