The Des Lacs Burlington Lakers have a very nice team and could surprise some opponents this season. Head Coach Tracy Bonn is in her 10th season and likes her team's chances each night against great competition. She was impressed with her team's willingness to put in time and effort this offseason. The Lakers will have a quick and athletic team. They will need to play an "in your face" kind of defense in order to compete in one of the toughest regions in the state. Their tallest returning letter-winner is 5'11 sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1224883' first='Hanna' last='Sundsbak']. She had an excellent season last year rebounding, having averaged 7.1 rebounds per game. Fellow sophomores Piper Feller, Aspyn MacClennan and Bailey Kilbourn will be looking to increase production this season. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1220783' first='Sierra' last='Yale'] is poised for an improved scoring season. Senior All-Region talent [player_tooltip player_id='1218756' first='Logen' last='Ystaas'] is one of the best scorers in the region and will be ready to lead this talented squad to many victories in 2025-2026.

5 - Bottineau

Bottineau has a handful of returning players but is going to miss Kyra Beckman, who graduated in 2025. Last season she was Region 3's Senior Athlete of the Year, a 1st-Team All-State player, and a Lions All-Star. She is currently playing for Division 2 Minot State. It is hard to replace a player like Kyra, but head coach Michael Vandal is going to do his best. He has a special player in [player_tooltip player_id='1056241' first='Hallie' last='Nero'] returning to his squad. Hallie surpassed 1000 career points last season as a junior. She is a quality forward and Bottineau's best player. She will be relied upon for offensive production and rebounding. Look for her to have an All-Region type of season. Fellow senior Rylee Brennan is another returning letter winner from the 2026 class. Look for her numbers to increase this season. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1155605' first='Logyn' last='Simpson'] is a quality guard and someone I think will have a great year. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1224881' first='Karsyn' last='Allard'] is the last piece to this squad. She averaged 7 points per game last season and has potential to average double figures this season.
