Deeper Dive: Class 2A Region 3 Player Evaluations

She showed real promise as a player in her sophomore season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the things that mainly stood out about Sherrell's game last season was her perimeter shooting. When she is on the court, she is constantly hunting for threes. If she is given a glimpse of the air behind the line, she does not hesitate to shoot. At 5'6", she can still get shot over taller defenders with her fast release and with her high arc on her jumper. Sherrell proved to be a lethal shooter last year for Bledsoe County High School, knocking down two or more threes in multiple games. She lets the game come to her, and does force the issue and make silly mistakes. On offense, she is a solid playmaker as a big, confident scorer around the basket, and has a good perimeter shot. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On defense, Parsons shines as a great rebounder and is constantly making an impact in the steal and block department. She has a good foot speed as a big, which led to some large steal totals in contests last season. This includes a game against Van Buren County High School, where she had five steals. She showcased her scoring ability throughout the year, notching several 20+ point performances. This includes a game where she dropped 29 points against Cascade High School. Her versatility was seen in a game against Community High School last year, where she nearly had a 20-point triple-double. Alexander, in the contest, logged 22 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>These types of outings were a crucial part of Cannon County High School, having a record of 20-6 last season. She was active on the glass throughout the game, snagging a total of 12 rebounds. Timmis also stood out defensively, getting five blocks in the game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Her versatility on the offensive end showed up in this game as well. At 5'10", she showed she is capable of creating off the dribble. She carved out paths through the lane and made a couple of shots around the basket. Against Wilson Central High School, she had 10 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Despite her team getting the loss in this game, Trevathan showed skills in her game that can lead to winning. Going through the season, her ability to space the floor, rebound at a high level at 5'5", and playmake should lead to her team winning some games.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On the defensive end of things, she has also been impactful to start this season.
