It's always hard to say goodbye. The worst feeling for a coach is playing your last game with a group of players. You reflect on everything you all have been through. The good, the bad, the ups, and the downs. You saw the maturation of a player and watched them floor and take their game to new heights.

When I look back at the ‘26 class, I will remember all they accomplished. I remember covering them when they were freshmen, and I can go on record and tell you that none of these girls ever backed down against upperclassmen. They approached each game with a certain mindset and played their role well. It didn't matter if they were freshman at the time; they still got after it, leaving a lasting impression.

Fast forward to now, time has surely flown by. We have seen so much that this class has been a part of. Championship. Scoring records. 3-point records. 1,000+ scorers. Kids who will go on to play at the next level. Kids who broke school records. I mean, the list goes on and on. What I will say about this group of young women, they played with such class, and each of them, top to bottom, left their program better than they found it. I bet any coach or scout would agree that this class truly left their mark on their respective program.

As we close out the 2025-26 season, here are a few kids who truly impacted their program in more ways than one.

Talk about a kid who could score the rock. She scored over 1500+ points, but that's not what stood out in my opinion. Any time she suited up, it was like she gave her club an edge. Coaches would game-plan for her, and she would still find a way to be impactful. The Lady Bees program has had a ton of talented kids come through. Add her name to the list of those talented ones who wore the black and gold.

There is a knock on Metro Nashville basketball, but this young lady has turned the tide for the Lady Bobcats of Overton. She gave her club a fighting chance every time she took the floor. Bringing that dawg mentality to the game, as soon as the ball tipped off, she was all gas, no brake. A kid who could play solid on both ends of the floor, she was always in the mix and helping her club thrive. She will be a solid addition at the next level.

Talk about a kid who could shoot the lights out. She doesn't even have to have her feet set all the way, given a sliver of daylight, and that ball is going up and going in. She added to her game, especially over the last two years. She went from being a set shooter to adding multiple counters to her bag in her ability to score. What I love about her is her makeup; she wasn't afraid to step up in crunch time. She played tons of meaningful games and was an integral part of the Lady Irish program. She will be a great addition to the Lady Trojans program at Trevecca.

A kid who has handled adversity and then some. She played her role to a T and executed when her number was called. She always had this switch in her game, and when it was turned on, there was nothing the other team could do about it. She could go from scoring in single digits in the first half to putting up 20 points before it's all said and done. This kid can score the basketball from all over and is one you could count on to hit the big shot down the stretch. She's a talented kid who is going to do great things at the next level.

There must be something in the Shirley DNA, as she, too, has this kill switch. I have seen her go from 0 to 100 real quick. A kid who can play a role or take over a game given the opportunity. Reese is a kid who can spot up on the perimeter or create off the dribble. One of her assets is her ability to rebound. She has a knack for coming up with rebounds despite her size. She goes on to play at the University of Montevallo. They are getting a kid who is going to compete at everything she does. If that switch is turned on, she's going to be hard to handle.
