Lady Tigers of Castor Roar Pass Claiborne

The Lady Tigers of Castor High School, a Division B school located in Bienville Parish in Louisiana, are led by Head Coach Ty Hester. Castor High School might be a smaller school in a rural area, but they have some very exciting prospects you need to keep an eye on. With four starting freshmen and one senior, the Lady Tigers defeated the challengers, Claiborne High School, on November 11-08-25. It was an Impressive Win for the Lady Tigers with a very high level of energy and hustle, and skillful play on the court. McKinsey Clark, Lady Tigers number 00, Freshmen class of 2029, Point Guard for Castor High School. Showed a lot of skills on the floor. Right off the back, she showed her presence on defense against her opponents, pressuring the ball handler and stripping the ball clean, and as the game progressed, she showed great ball awareness on defense and communication with her teammates. Even tho she's not the biggest on the floor, she got a few blocks in as well, just dominated the floor on defense. On the offensive side of the ball, she was amazing to watch for a young player, great ball handler against pressure, she can knock down 3's, she was (3-3) shooting 100 percent beyond the arc, and if she wasn't threatening you from the top of the key she was driving the lanes to finish at the rim. Great young prospect to keep a close eye on.     Jaidyn Smith, a freshman for the Lady Tigers, plays as a Center/Power Forward, number 14, and is a member of the class of 2029 at Castor High School. Standing at 5'10", her physique allows her to effectively control the post on both defense and offense. Defensively, she is an excellent rebounder and boxes out with remarkable ease. She presents a formidable presence under the rim, adept at blocking shots and forcing turnovers through her skill and focused on-ball play. Offensively, she demonstrates the ability to handle the ball when necessary, set effective screens, and make decisive cuts to the rim. She primarily inflicts damage within the paint by posting up and finishing strongly. Additionally, she possesses a reliable mid-range shot and is a proficient passer for a player of her stature. It was a pleasure to observe her command of the paint. She serves as the team's enforcer on the court.     Joci Rogers, a freshman small forward/power forward for the Lady Tigers, number 15 in the class of 2029, was truly impressive to observe on the court. Her communication skills with teammates, both offensively and defensively, were immediately apparent. Defensively, she demonstrated exceptional versatility, covering the entire court and capable of guarding all five positions when necessary. Joci also proved to be an excellent shot blocker, displaying remarkable hustle and determination by diving for loose balls, creating pressure, and forcing turnovers. Her presence was consistently felt on the court, as she effectively assisted Jaidyn Smith in the paint and protected the rim. Offensively, her ability to drive to the rim and finish strongly was remarkable, as was her proficiency in making free throws. She also possesses a commendable floater and mid-range shot, though she often prefers to drive to the rim, showcasing her athleticism and high motor. Joci is also a skilled passer, adept at finding open teammates in the corner or distributing the ball and making effective cuts to the rim.     Brylee Cox, a freshman at Castor High School, is recognized as Lady Tigers' number one player for the class of 2029. Brylee particularly excels on the defensive end, demonstrating exceptional ball awareness and on-ball pressure. She effectively disrupts passing lanes, skillfully navigates around screens, and consistently hustles for loose balls. During the recent game, she recorded three steals. Offensively, she displays the capability to successfully shoot three-pointers when given space and can effectively drive to the basket. She also possesses the necessary ball-handling skills when required. Furthermore, she is an adept passer, consistently finding open teammates in the paint or during transition plays. It is important to remember that as a freshman, she has significant potential for continued growth and development.
