Every school has their go-to player. The one they rely on when they need a bucket, someone who can make the play when the game is on the line. The infamous buzzer-beater at Parkway by Chloe Larry is one that comes to mind. Sometimes, that responsibility doesn't come until senior year, but for others, it arrives earlier. Here are some players who are stepping into a lead role, ready to be called upon when needed. If they are coming to play.... WATCH OUT!    Randle is not new or improved; she has played the steady development game. After watching her play a few days ago, I can confidently say she is one of the most skilled players in north Louisiana. She is a true point guard, covering all aspects of skill. She is a leader on the court, plays the game with high IQ, and is a reliable mid-range shooter. I would match her with any top guard in the state, and she could hold her own in every measurable area. If you're facing Sterlington? WATCH OUT! Randle is a gamer.     Urijah is one of the toughest competitors in the state, with a clear path to playing college basketball. She has been a key piece for quite some time, but this year, she is the player to watch. Her ability to make shots is elite, but beyond her skill is her sheer will and passion for the game, which is evident whenever you watch her play. She is relentless on both sides of the ball, and her energy is contagious to her teammates. If Urijah is on the opposing team, WATCH OUT. She came to compete, and it's going to be a tough game.     Sky Jones is not a player you need to watch a full game to understand her impact. The requirements for a next-level point guard include basketball IQ, on-ball defense, and the ability to knock down open shots—all of which Jones does at a high level. She is a facilitating point guard, but she also has the skill to score in bunches and keep the defense honest. If you're in the gym and Peabody is playing, WATCH OUT! Sky Jones will be there to show and prove.     Alford delivered a high-level performance against Ruston in a pre-season scrimmage, catching the attention of a college coach with her poised play and impressive skills. She is a threat both inside and outside, playing the game with a chip on her shoulder. A high-level rebounder and an intimidating defender, she is an ideal prospect for next-level competition. I know Sterlington has lost some players, but if they are on your schedule, WATCH OUT!!! Alford is a beast.     Polk is poised to have possibly the biggest season among all our listed players. She is part of a Slidell team many consider to be a top team, if not the best in the state. Her growth and development are a significant part of those conversations. She is another facilitating guard who understands how to use her team's weapons effectively. She is an elite finisher around the rim and plays the game with an edge. Calling her a stock riser would be an understatement, but if you haven't seen her and Slidell is on the schedule, WATCH OUT—there is a hooper coming to town.    The season starts in a few days.
