In this article, we look at small forwards and power forwards who made their marks in week one of the high school season. These players took on the scoring loads, leadership roles, held it down in the paint, and got down hill to attack the rim. Their impact went far beyond the scoreboard. Their efforts of these forwards not only highlighted their own skill-sets- but were paid forward and elevated their teammates and impacted the outcome. .

Annie Ament made her presence felt early and often in Week One. She opened the game with a confident drive to the rim, then quickly showcased her versatility with multiple threes in the first half. Ament handled the ball well, moved it efficiently within the offense, and consistently put herself in scoring positions with smart cuts and spacing. Her ability to score, handle the ball , play with physicality, and shoot with efficiency gave Creekside a reliable weapon and new leader on the floor. Her effort was paid forward and teammates were inspired.

[player_tooltip player_id='514521' first='Brie' last='McCoy'] delivered one of the most dominant performances in the front-court. She established herself early with a powerful interior presence, sealing deep in the paint and finishing through contact with strength. What separated her this week was her power on the inside and a soft shooting touch on the outside- knocking down perimeter looks and showing she can score from beyond the arc. When McCoy caught the ball on the block and went to her left hand, she was virtually unstoppable. Defensively, she contested shots, and controlled the boards with physicality and effort. Her ability to impact the game on both ends made her a match-up problem all night and a clear focal point for her team's success. McCoy played with power, physicality, and toughness - and she used all three to "pay it forward" to her teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='748533' first='Falisa' last='White'] made her San Jose Prep debut in week 1 and averaged 17.0 points per game. White is one of the most physically gifted prospects on the First Coast and in the 2027 class. She is a physical forward and versatile forward wrapped in one. She can literally dominate inside and then retreat behind the arc and shoot the three. White has top 10 talent and with a solid season, she will shoot up the score book and the ranking charts. In week one, she paid it forward and led her team to 2 victories

[player_tooltip player_id='633529' first='Mia' last='Chandler'] made her San Jose Prep debut and ruled the boards, averaging 10 rebounds per game and 6.5 points. Chandler is a versatile player who can impact the game in multiple ways. With two teammates averaging double figures in points, Chandler turned her attention to the glass. Her physical style of play and ability to anchor the middle was a winning combination. Her versatile effort "paid it forward" and allowed her team to get out to 2-0 start.

[player_tooltip player_id='221613' first='Alyssa' last='Hallman'] has picked up where she left off last season. During Week One, the scoring load has been spread out to multiple teammates. Hallman continues to be a reliable, clutch play maker who has always delivered when her team needed it most. What stands out in Week One is her ability to impact the game in multiple ways. She's pulling down 6.3 rebounds per game, battling on the glass, and finding ways to affect possessions beyond scoring. Her leadership is evident and her willingness lead in anyway has been paid forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1046157' first='Siun' last='Crowley'] put together a strong Week One showing, delivering the two-way versatility that she is known for. Crowley also showed she could step out and knock down the three and force defenses to account for her beyond the paint. Crowley also impacts the game on the glass. She was steady and competitive and consistently gave her team multiple second- chance opportunities. Defensively, she brought physicality in the middle and wasn't afraid to mix it up on contact plays. Throughout the game, she produced several “splash plays” that were paid forward to her teammates.
