[player_tooltip player_id='1226071' first='Eden' last='Horn'] is one of the tallest prospects that the 2029 Class in Iowa has to offer at this time. Horn comes in listed at 6'3 for St. Edmond Catholic out of Fort Dodge and she should always put impressive numbers as a rebounder, blocker, and scorer near the bucket. We have seen Horn average some serious numbers so far this Winter in the Blocks and Rebounds department while holding her competition to low numbers in other important statistical categories. The question about Horn moving forward will be her progression. She needs to play against some hoopers that are better than her each week as she trains if she wants to unlock her full potential but you know what we always say, you can't teach height so to start things off Horn sits at #13 in this Update.

The journey for [player_tooltip player_id='884400' first='Aubrey' last='Meyer'] will be interesting over the next 3.5 years. We have a situation where Meyer is playing out of her natural position so that she can see time on the Varsity floor with her Liberty program. Meyer is being moved around as the 5 when in reality she is more of a 3/4. She is seeing a lot of action in the Post, when she could really be used as a threat attacking from the outside as a mismatch at times but you work with the situation you have. Over the years this is another player that we will need to see some progression in her game but the foundation and base are there for her to build on. When she competes against opponents out of her age Class, she usually does a thorough job of holding her own, being one of the best players on the floor and I think that holds up over-time.

Hinton is a favored team to make a big run at the 2A State Title over the next three months following their Championship a year ago. A reason for this success isn't just their system but their personal on hand. They return everyone from a year ago and they add note-worthy players like [player_tooltip player_id='1305403' first='Ellie' last='Friessen']. To my understanding, Ellie's main sport is Volleyball, where she helped Hinton DOMINATE over the past six months but she is also a hooper that can get things done of the Basketball court at 6'0. Friessen not only have size, length, and natural skill here or there. She is also uber athletic for her height. She moves well getting down the floor and that early work within a possession is going to be a big to her success over the next few years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1563223' first='Josie' last='Austen'] isn't competing at the Varsity level in every contest so far this Winter but she is slowly getting acclimated to that level of play and that is going to help her down the line. Austen has some better than average height at 6'1, she is pretty versatile as a SF, and she is slowly gaining confidence in herself whenever she takes the floor. Sometimes there can be an adjustment period for young prospects and that is what Austen is working through at this time. If she continues to stack the days, she should be a name we continue to her about over the next couple of seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1170537' first='Blake' last='Goldsmith'] moves into this Winter as a 5'11 PF. Within her high school program, along with who is placed around her and it's easy to see that Goldsmith is going to expand her game at the Forward position over the next couple of seasons. Goldsmith is a physical presence under the basket. She loves to use her size to handle smaller matchups, keeping the ball at her chin whenever she catches offensively near the hoop. She can wall up against bigger matchups on the defensive end if need be but she can also pop out to hard hedge on screening action, if that is what her team's defensive scheme is. Goldsmith has promise. There is no doubt about that so far. Now we just need to keep watching to see how everything continues to shake out.
