Aurora Team Profile: Evals

After watching the first two games of the season for Aurora, it's clear that they have one of the most talented starting fives in the area. The team is led by seniors Brooke Pierce and [player_tooltip player_id='1241434' first='Addison' last=''] Witting, they bring experience, aggressiveness, and the ability to score the ball. Their defense on the other team's guards allows their younger players more latitude to understand and realize their defensive rotations. It's a true family affair which begins with Brooke's sister, Caitlin the team's starting point guard and [player_tooltip player_id='1241434' first='Addison' last='']'s sister Reese Aurora's starting post. Those two bring youthful energy, hustle, and a willingness to do the little things to help the team be successful. Rounding out the lineup is the versatile wing, Jillian Monastero. Her explosive athleticism and ability to defend every position are game-changing. Jillian constantly attacks the floor, which unlocks the entire offense and creates easy scoring chances. Reese Witting Sophomore Post An absolute beast on the boards and an elite post defender, Reese possesses immense upside. As she continues to hone her skills, this is the player you need to be tracking for the future. She has huge potential! Brooke Pierce Senior Guard The walking definition of a fierce competitor. Brooke is an incredibly quick athlete and a relentless on-ball defender. She can take over a game—she's an ultimate streak shooter from deep who can also score creatively in multiple ways! Caitlin Pierce Sophomore Point Guard Her ability to play downhill keeps pressure on the defense, and her court vision is exceptional, consistently delivering assists for high-percentage looks. Defensively, her unique reach and timing result in steals that quickly transition the team to offense. A true asset! Jillian Monastero Junior Wing A highly athletic multi-skilled player that college coaches should be in attendance for. I watched Jillian knocked down multiple threes whether in transition or off the catch in the half court. In both games that I saw Jillian get downhill to the rim before help side defense could come over and recover.
