Cherokee Invitational: Unsigned Senior Standouts

Angel was exceptional for Luella winning Player of the Game award and scoring in double figures once again at an Insider Exposure event. Thomas is a versatile wing who handles the ball very well and gets downhill with the ball quick. She is a relentless driver who can finish with both hands and take contact. She is a physical guard who got to the free throw line often and made them when they counted. She willed them to victory in a three-overtime thriller to start the tournament and was consistent the rest of the way. Very good unsigned senior in Georgia.     Binion was excellent on both ends of the court for Campbell. She played point forward running the offense in the game I watched. Binion is very quick with the ball and at 5'10 she is a matchup nightmare for opposing post players to defend her. Binion also was good shooting the basketball from the midrange and is a capable shooter from three. On defense she guarded the other team's best player and was a nuisance. She got steals guarding the ball and jumping in the passing lane. Binion also blocked several shots. Binion's versatility should translate well on the next level.     McMasters is one of the more consistent players in Georgia. Playing for a very successful Holy Innocents program, Elana knows the game well. She does an excellent job picking her spots on offense. She isn't always the first option on offense, but when her number is called McMasters delivers. She has excellent size at almost 6' tall for a guard. she rebounds the ball well and is an excellent defender. She can score from the perimeter, midrange, and around the basket. She is a very athletic kid that competes each play.     Grant is the focal point of the offense for Hampton and draws a lot of attention with her size. There are not many post players in in Georgia at her size with the footwork and agility that Trinity has. Grant is an effective scorer inside and is skilled enough as a post to drift out to the perimeter and cause problems for the defense. Grant can knockdown the midrange consistently and can make shots from three-point range. Her size and skill have drawn the interest of several college coaches from all levels. Even as a senior, Grant has a lot of potential to extend her shooting range and add more to her ever-improving perimeter game.     Ring had some very nice stints of play for South Forsyth. Hildy is a strong, quick post player with very good athleticism. She moves very well for a player her size. She did a nice job finishing around the basket and setting solid screens on offense as well as hitting the offensive boards hard. She showed the ability to knock down shots from 8-10 feet. Ring was not afraid of contact and played with toughness battling inside for rebounds on defense. Ring was excellent on the defensive end altering and blocking shots. She could be a big piece for South as they get into tournament play in February.
