ELV8 Rising Stars Showcase MVP's

The ELV8 Rising Stars Showcase was held last weekend in Tucson, Arizona. Some of the top Middle School players in Arizona showed up and the competition was intense from the beginning. The athletes were put through a skills session followed by Showcase games. Here are a few of the top players and the MVP's of the event.      Janyilah Warren is one of the most skilled Middle School players in the State. She is a combo guard that has excellent ball handling and passing skills. She can flat out shoot the ball on all 3 levels. She is tall for a guard her age and her length as a defender really gives guards trouble. Her ability to run the floor in transition and blow by defenders is especially impressive. She is already garnering attention from several D1 Colleges and will be one of the most highly recruited players in the state when she is eligible for offers.     Alaysia Peace is a highly skilled Point Guard that has tremendous court vision and awareness. Her ball handling skills are excellent for a player her age and she is a terrific passer. She is excellent on the drive and she is able to go to several different finishes. She is a very good defender and she is a leader on the court. She is already playing with [program_tooltip program_id='713512' first='AZ' last='Compass'] National team as an 8th grader so the expectations of her are sky high.     Rozay Perales is star on the rise in Arizona. She is a tremendous shooter from all levels especially from the 3 point line. She is a highly skilled ball handler and passer, and she runs the floor in transition extremely well for an 8th grader. She is an excellent defender and a tremendous leader on the floor. She communicates very well with her teammates and coaches. She will be very highly recruited before she finishes high school.      Lyric Bess is one of the best Young prospects in Southern Arizona. She has good size and strength for her age and she is very highly skilled. She is a good ball handler for her size and an excellent shooter. She is excellent on drives to the basket and she is a very tough defender. She will be a D1 prospect in the near future.     Yaretzi Castaneda is another top prospect in Southern Arizona that will explode onto the scene in the coming months. She is a big guard that is highly skilled especially as an outside shooter. She is tough to cover in transition because of her size and ability to spot up. She is an excellent defender that can cover multiple positions and rebound. She is a highly motivated player that has worked extremely hard for the last several years to get to this position. She will be one of the top guards in Southern Arizona in the next few years.
