Back in September I started a series covering some of the best players that I watched at The Expo in Appleton. In this new multi-part series I wanted to check in to see how some of them are doing at (about) the quarter pole of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1039256' first='Paige' last='Pommerich']---Suring

What first caught my eye, with Paige's game, is that she is an aggressive, tenacious defender who does an excellent job sliding her feet and causing havoc with very active hands both when she is guarding the ball or playing the passing lanes. That has carried over, into the first five games of the season, averaging 3.6 steals per game. Her overall line shouldn't be slept on as she is averaging 15.2 points, 4 rebounds, and almost 3 assists per game and has the Eagles off to a 4-1 start.

[player_tooltip player_id='1039225' first='Angelina' last='Reyes']---Dominican

There may not be a hotter team, right now in D4, than the Dominican Knights and a big reason for that is the play of junior [player_tooltip player_id='1039225' first='Angelina' last='Reyes']. Angelina was one of the best, most complete players that I watched at The Expo with the ability to just know where to be and how to use her body/off-hand to create space and finish a variety of ways around the basket while exhibiting great body control. That has continued into her team's hot start putting up 83 points, 36 rebounds (24 offensive) and 10 assists in 6 games. With some tough upcoming games, they Knights will need Reyes to continue to play like the player I saw in September.

[player_tooltip player_id='1319432' first='Chelinda' last='Spector']---Pius-XI

Chelinda was one of the more impressive rebounders, that I watched, at The Expo. I am not surprised when I see she is pulling downs 12 per game and has led her team to a 4-0 start. One side of her game that has stood out is her willingness to stretch the defense putting up almost eight 3's per game and shooting 36% from distance.

[player_tooltip player_id='978272' first='Eva' last='Englebert']---River Falls

You never know what to expect, from a young athlete, coming off of a season-ending injury but Eva impressed me, at The Expo, specifically with her speed/quickness combo. She does an excellent job of getting the defense, on their heels, but was lethal when given any space to shoot her smooth lefty jumper. The 5-7 sophomore has started the season averaging 14.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg, and about 2 assists and steals per game in leading the Wildcats to a 5-1 start and I look for that to go up as she dials it in from long distance.
