Prep Girls Hoops' top-ranked junior from Colorado is off to a sparkling start to the winter season, though her team has yet to find its stride.

Even at 6-foot-4, Monarch's [player_tooltip player_id='792683' first='Sienna' last='Williams'] is still searching for her spot in the high school season's limelight.

Following the Coyotes' 6A finals loss to Grandview and future college star Sienna Betts in 2023, the program began the rebuilding process around its young, confident star, who made an immediate impact and only got better.

The rest of Monarch's revamp, however, wasn't as immediate.

Williams got a new coach her sophomore season, Kincaid Bimler, and like the year before, she posted huge stat lines (19.2 PPG and 15.3 RPG) but couldn't quite lead the Coyotes to a playoff victory. In Monarch's postseason opener last March, she had 33 points and 18 rebounds in an 18-point loss to Columbine.

But there's reason for more optimism in 2025-26 as the Coyotes return their entire varsity roster from last season's 15-9 campaign. On Saturday, Monarch (1-2) got its first win of the season, beating Skyview 56-19 behind 25 points and 14 rebounds from Williams.

Let's take a quick look at five juniors who are off to hot starts this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='792683' first='Sienna' last='Williams'], Monarch: Believe it or not, her stats through three games are even exceeding her sophomore numbers as she's averaging 26.7 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks per game. On Thursday, she had 34 points, 21 boards and five blocks in a 55-54 loss to Chaparral.

[player_tooltip player_id='793048' first='Santana' last='Sabus'], Ralston Valley: Like Williams, Colorado's fifth-ranked junior's numbers are getting a bit buried in her team's 1-2 start. She's averaging 25.3 points and 13 rebounds. That's up from last year's pace, when she finished at 18.8 PPG and 9.1 RPG, and led the Mustangs to the 6A round of 16.

[player_tooltip player_id='1198713' first='Courtney' last='Steinkamp'], Eaton: She currently leads the state in scoring at 31.2 PPG. Steinkamp, nearing 1,000 career points for the Reds (3-1), already has two games this winter with 35-plus points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1225729' first='Sofia' last='Sigg'], Berthoud: Her scoring average came down a bit in her 10-point performance in a win over Loveland on Saturday. But Sigg is still averaging 23 PPG, 9.3 RPG and — get this — 10.3 steals per game this season. She had 16 steals in the Spartans' opening-season win over Silver Creek last week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1053002' first='Delaney' last='Dennis'], Northfield: The Nighthawks (4-0) had one of the more impressive opening weeks to the winter — which included wins over Williams' Coyotes and Sabus' Mustangs — and Dennis is a big reason for it. Through four games, she's averaging 15 points and 7.5 rebounds. She shot 6 of 11 from the field in a 16-point win over Pine Creek on Saturday.

Prep Girls Hoops' top-ranked junior from Colorado is off to a sparkling start to the winter season, though her team has yet to find its stride.
