The Orange Park Christmas Tournament didn't reward speed alone or shot-making in isolation. It rewarded guards who understood timing, play making, and when to take matters into their own hands. These Senior guards set the tone at the Orange Park Christmas Classic. They controlled the games from possession to possession and these players set the tone and the other young players followed their lead.

[player_tooltip player_id='1218127' first='Jamiya' last='Brown'] plays the game with an understanding that speed is a weapon and she uses it wisely. Averaging 17.3 points per game entering the tournament, she showed why defenders struggle to contain her once she turns the corner. Her straight-line speed is elite and she has the ability she gets downhill against opposing guards. Brown uses her speed and quickness with purpose. She cuts sharply, changes direction on a dime, and explodes by defenders with a lightening quick first step. Brown also knows how to put the ball in the basket. She is an efficient three point shooter, can connect in the mid-range and can finish at the rim. Brown was a top performer at the event and will be a player to follow as this 2026 season unfolds.

[player_tooltip player_id='752544' first='Ja'Niyah' last='McCoy']'s game has evolved into a machine -like quality. her game is built on control and craft. In the past she was known known as a perimeter shooter, but at the Orange Park Christmas Classic, she flipped the script and killed the opponent with a stop and pop midrange. McCoy consistently got to her spots off the bounce. She changed direction smoothly, navigated into the paint, and punished defenders with a sweet midrange jumper and a killer float game. Even when running isolation sets, she played at her own tempo, reading defenders and punishing the opposition.

[player_tooltip player_id='929039' first='Janaina' last='Wess'] doesn't wait for the game to come to her — she makes it happen on mainly the defensive end. Wess is an athletic, high-motor forward/guard who plays with an edge that shows up on both ends of the floor. She disrupts actions, rebounds outside her area, and chases loose balls like every possessions matter. Her impact isn't tied to one part of the game. She impacts all three areas of the game.

Young played the tournament like a true floor general. She handled the ball with confidence, kept her team organized, and balanced scoring with leadership. When possessions tightened, she remained composed — delivering timely three-pointers and managing pace without forcing tempo. At one point Young connected on back to back threes. Her presence steadied her team. She communicated, handled pressure, and made the right reads. Young is the lone Senior on her team and sets the tone for her young teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='1572952' first='Jessica' last='Colon']'s athleticism immediately stood out, but her value showed up in her attack on the basket. She handles the ball well, changes direction fluidly, and puts pressure on defenders by attacking downhill. When defenders overplayed, she drew fouls and got to the line. Colon played in sync with her guards and showed she could create opportunities for herself and for her teammates.
