I had a chance to revisit the D2 division from the Texas Invitational, where Cy Lakes won the championship game against Katy Taylor

Jeffries had me scratching my head as I was trying to remember if I hadn't seen her previously, so like I tell y'all, USE THE SEARCH BAR, and 2 years ago, see evaluation here. Off the top, she was coming from out of nowhere to block shots, yet seeing her dive for loose balls JUST DID IT for me. She goes AFTA everything off the rim, her court vision was solid, and she gave me the "hands and footwork" to finish. Solid upside as she's "long and athletic" and stands above "the magic number"

Alexis is a skilled scorer who can put the ball in the basket multiple ways, and part of that is because of her constantly moving without the ball on the offensive end and seeing gaps for her to cut to the basket and score on an assist from one of her teammates. Oh yeah, she can attack and finish as well as drop the mid to long-range, yet her "stop and pop" jumper in transition looked good, so did her "on the ball defense."

Redmond understands how to control the tempo, which is very important. However, her "threading the needle" to hit teammates in traffic was a plus, and her ability to drop the FLOATA off the dribble, sometimes from the free-throw line, was also notable. Her midrange jumper was effective, she finished after contact off the dribble, her defense was solid, and she rebounded

Scherpereel was one of the opening day standouts I caught at the event, and seeing her handling her business in the championship was nice see evaluations here. Her smoothness under pressure and ability to understand how to get hers "in the flow" as well as "take over offensively" when needed are just things you can't teach. Off the dribble, creating her shot for the pull-up, as well as seeing the floor, were all on full display, yet her defense and playing the passing lane also looked good

Jack was a "jack of all trades" because I'm giving her the #THROWBACK hashtag for taking me back to yesteryear, when players who were undersized BATTLED against taller players for rebounds, as well as played solid interior defense. You can't teach DESIRE, and watching her understand how to use her frame on both ends was a treat. She also scored off the dribble and finished after contact. She dove on the floor for loose balls, and just for fun, she went coast to coast a few times
