23rd Classic In The Country Challenge – 2029s Who Caught My Eyes

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Girls Hoops covered the 23rd Annual Classic In the Country Challenge that took place inside the Perry Reese JR Community Center at [program_tooltip program_id='712419' first='Berlin' last='Hiland'] High School. This was a three day event that took place over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday that celebrated Dr. King's social impact on society and the great hospitality of the wonderful Amish Country community. These three days featured 22 games that highlighted many of the top high school programs in the state of Ohio across all divisions. She is a an aggressive combo guard who looks to make huge impacts on both ends of the floor for Bellbrook. She showed off her extended range knocking down a three-pointer off the baseline as she demonstrated she can be heavily realized upon for scoring the ball even at a young age. In the win versus Carrollton, she finished with an outstanding 10 points and was active on the glass contributing with two offensive rebounds! Mendel showed she is capable of seeing the floor well as she found a teammate for an assist. She also showed an aggressive playstyle earning trips to the free throw line converting 4/5 of her attempts. Houpe now plays for Mount Notre Dame and is an huge interior presence for the Cougars. She can finish with either hand and possesses a strong ability to finish through contact on her way to the rim. Houpe finished with six points while going 3/3 from the field in Mount Notre Dame's win versus Berea-Midpark. Houpe is going to be a problem for her opponents moving forward as she continues to grow more confident as an interior scorer as she gets older. She finished with seven points as she made plays on both ends of the floor for the Titans. She finished with a pair of steals demonstrating all game that she is a young and active pressure defender on that end of the floor. Jones also displayed her developing jump shot, knocking down a three-pointer! She uses her size well to be aggressive both on the defensive and offensive glass. Stubbe also showed that she has a consistent stroke from the free throw line and demonstrated that even at a young age she can be an asset in this area for her team! She showed great activity collecting one steal in their win versus Mason. Hoopes impresses at 6'1" with her ability to lock down the paint and be a consistent rebounding presence for the Warriors. She has great chemistry with her other 6 foot teammate Tallie Muniz and consistently displays a willingness to set each other other up for scores. Londot also fought hard to get the free throw line converting half of her attempts. She impressed with her vision on the offensive end, finding her teammate for an assist. She was aggressive all game looking for her own shot as well as helping others dropping three assists in the game. Anderson was all over the floor grabbing rebounds and making huge impacts on both ends for the Comets. She's only a freshman? Teamer makes locking down the paint and securing defensive rebounds look easy as she finished with four in Notre Dame Academy's win over Mason. She also has an offensive game that is coming together for her and will only continue to improve as she grows! She had a consistent offensive impact for West Clermont as she finished both games during the 2026 Classic In The Country Challenge with double digit scoring! What can't this freshman do? She can knockdown threes as well as attack the basket and draw fouls on a consistent basis. Swisshelm greatly impressed with her ability to rebound and run the floor as a freshman, contributing with five boards in both games! I'm a huge fan of her game and I'm certain she is only tapping the surface of her potential! Campbell isn't afraid of any opponent despite her young age! She goes right at opponents making them pay for over guarding her with her ballhandling, finishing, and passing ability. The freshmen Campbell and Swisshelm play very well off each other combining for a lethal offensive attack! Campbell has a pure stroke from deep as she knocked one down in both games for West Clermont. She also loves to fight for lose balls on the offensive glass and securing defensive boards as well. I'm a huge fan of her game and would certainly not be surprised if they both start drawing interest from big time colleges during their high school careers! The Schaefer sisters are dangerous and make huge impacts on both ends of the floor. Kayleigh is the younger sister but she still logs solid minutes for the Bulldogs and makes a significant impact on both ends of the floor! Kayleigh has the physical tools and body to be a pest on the defensive end with her natural length and instincts. Schaefer demonstrated she can stretch the defense knocking down three-pointers as well! She also loves to show great hustle and crash the offensive glass looking for putbacks. Shepherd-Easton makes her impact felt on both ends of the floor for the Aviators. She logs good minutes at the point guard position contributing to the scoreboard when she gets the opportunity! Shepherd-Easton loves attacking the basket as well as pulling up for midrange floaters. She also demonstrates she can step out and hit the three-pointer with her strong pure stroke! Shepherd-Easton plays bigger than she is by grabbing defensive rebounds and pushing in transition for easy scores. I was impressed with her change of direction and shiftiness as a guard. Shepherd-Easton is not afraid of matching up against bigger guards as she uses her quickness to get around them. She also showed great hustle and demonstrated that she has the potential to become an elite pressure defender at the guard position as she forced one steal in the game. Zajac is a rising forward who demonstrated she can extend her range, knocking down a three-pointer! She also impressed with ability to attack the defense as a driver and finisher at the rim. Zajac sees the floor and passes the ball very well for her age. Defensively, she left an impact tallying a steal and block each in the game versus West Clermont. Being 5'10" and considered a shooting guard is more than impressive! As a freshman, she is asked to play a larger role and fits seamlessly into the Hawks' offense. Hubble plays with a high motor and joy for the game that can't be taught! She loves to get into the middle of the action on each play as she looks to crash the glass looking for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Hubble also showed she is a capable passer seeing the floor well as a ball distributer with her one assist in the game. I'm high on the upside that Hubble will bring to Hiland as she continues to develop and increase her roll on both ends of the floor for the Hawks!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
