Here are five players who had big performances last night — or who will be key players for their teams in the semifinals — in the Central and Centennial Conference tournaments.

The top four seeds moved on in the Central Conference and Friday's semifinals at York High School will feature Aurora taking on Crete, and Northwest facing York. Top-seeded Aurora defeated Lexington, 54-28 while Crete won on the road at Adams Central 61-48. York took an early lead on Seward and won 35-26, while Northwest avenged a previous loss to Lakeview with a convincing 60-33 win.

Egge is having a standout sophomore year for coach Britt Ehlers and the Cardinals are 6-1 in their past seven games after a 1-9 start to the year. On Tuesday, Egge recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and grabbing 15 rebounds against Adams Central. She also added two blocks. A legit 6-footer, Egge is comfortable in the post and has controlled the paint for the Cardinals this season. She leads Crete with averages of 10.4 points and 12.2 rebounds on the season.

Graves has a full array of offensive game and can shoot the lights out of it from deep. On Tuesday, in Northwest's 60-33 win over Lakeview, she did a little bit of everything. She scored 15 points, grabbed six rebounds, had five steals and tallied four assists. She carries season averages of 11.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. Her ability to stay on the floor and out of foul trouble is key to the Vikings success on both ends of the court.

The headliners -- Lincoln Christian (Class C-1, No. 2) and Hastings St. Cecilia (Class C-2, No. 6) -- advanced easily to Thursday's semifinals. Their opponents, Omaha Concordia for Christian and Kearney Catholic for HSC, both pulled off mild upsets to advance. Concordia went on the road to defeat Aquinas Catholic 69-63 and KC came back in the fourth quarter to edge Scotus, 49-47. Both games will tip off at 6:00.

It is possible that Wiles is one of the most improved players in this class as she is having a breakout season for the Hawkettes? We think so. In a 58-38 win over Bishop Neumann on Tuesday, she had 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds. The game was her fifth since Christmas where she scored at least 15 points and corralled five rebounds. Wiles has improved her strength and if she would want to play at the next level it is certainly possible for a small school.

To slow down the shooting and quick pace of Lincoln Christian, the Mustangs will rely on their senior Hughes, who is having another big season on Fort Street. The 5-10 forward is averaging a double-double on the season at 12.3 points per game and 11 rebounds. She also leads Concordia with 2.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per contest. Last Thursday, Christian defeated the Mustangs 57-37 and Hughes had 15 points and 12 rebounds. The Crusaders countered with 20 points from [player_tooltip player_id='1153871' first='Maci' last='Pittenger'].

Seim has had a big junior year where she is attracting small college attention and seems to be a walking double-double each time she enters a gym. The 6-0 junior was key for the Stars in their 49-47 win over Scotus as she had 16 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks as Kearney Catholic erased a 30-20 halftime deficit to advance. On the season, Seim has averages of 13.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest for the 11-6 Stars.
