With another full slate of games at Cornerstone University, the Drive to the Hoop Classic offered a great opportunity to get extended looks at a wide range of players across multiple age groups. While the standout performances have already been covered, there were plenty of other players who caught my attention with their skill, effort, and feel for the game. These notes focus on individual players who stood out in different ways on Sunday and are worth tracking as they continue to develop.

She handled the ball confidently, staying under control while navigating traffic and keeping the offense organized. On the defensive end, her intensity stood out as she stayed active with her hands, disrupting passing lanes and forcing mistakes.
Nyah, who suits up for [program_tooltip program_id='1226083' first='West' last='Michigan Drive'], made her presence known with a strong, physical style of play on both ends of the floor. She was effective around the basket, converting tough finishes in traffic and not shying away from contact. Her work on the glass stood out as she tracked down rebounds and turned extra possessions into scoring chances. Defensively, Nyah showed great instincts, reading plays early, jumping passing lanes, and coming up with timely steals. Her combination of toughness, awareness, and finishing ability makes her a reliable impact player for her team.

Ally played a major role in [program_tooltip program_id='1226083' first='West' last='Michigan Drive']'s run to the championship game Sunday at the Drive to the Hoop Classic, showcasing her complete skill set from the point guard position. With good size for a lead guard, she consistently pressured the defense by getting downhill and finishing strong at the rim, including several plays that resulted in trips to the free-throw line. Her ball control allowed her to push the tempo, and she turned defensive takeaways into quick scores by going coast to coast. Ally also made her presence felt defensively with timely blocks and active hands, while keeping defenses honest by knocking down multiple shots from deep. Her two-way impact and composure stood out throughout the day.

Julia delivered an impressive all-around performance for the Mystics, making her mark in multiple areas of the game. The guard showed confidence in her jumper, spacing the floor and knocking down shots when given room. She also mixed in strong rebounding efforts, crashing the glass and securing possessions against bigger players. Defensively, Julia relied on sharp instincts to read plays, coming up with key stops and even swatting away a couple of shots. Those defensive plays quickly turned into offense, as she pushed the ball the length of the floor and finished through contact on one memorable drive for a three-point play. Her ability to impact the game on both ends stood out throughout the day.

Blake put on a shooting display for [program_tooltip program_id='1226083' first='West' last='Michigan Drive'], stretching the floor with a steady stream of made shots from beyond the arc. The guard showed no hesitation, repeatedly finding space and knocking down jumpers until it became hard to keep count. Her impact wasn't limited to scoring, as she read passing lanes extremely well on the defensive end, jumping routes and turning steals into quick offense. Blake also mixed in a smooth pull-up jumper, showing she can score at multiple levels. Her blend of shooting touch and defensive awareness made her one of the most effective guards on the floor.
