There is a lot of great basketball being played in Northern Wisconsin! Today I'm wrapping up highlighting a handful of those standout players located above Highway 8.

[player_tooltip player_id='914910' first='Addison' last='Schmidt']-Rice Lake

Coming off of a career high 34 point game, where she surpassed the 1,000 point threshold, it is easy to see why the 6-2 Schmidt joins her teammate, [player_tooltip player_id='533077' first='Adaline' last='Sheplee'], on this list as they make up arguably the most dominant frontcourt in Division 2. For the season she is averaging 17.8 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 4.1 blocks while shooting 57% from the floor and 40% from three. Schmidt, a UWGB commit for both Basketball and Volleyball, has the Warriors primed for a return to the Resch in March.

Lexi Tarman-Turtle Lake

Coming off of a sophomore season, where she averaged 10.5 points per game, the 5-4 Tarman has made another impressive jump posting a line of 16.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 3.5 apg, 3.9 spg while shooting 32% from three. A terrific defensive player she has also recorded two or more steals in nine straight games and has the Lakers in the title hunt in the Lakeland-West.

Miley Brotzel-Amery

Okay... Amery is a little south of Highway 8 but it is my article and I'm going with it! The 5-5 junior is having a terrific season putting up 17.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 3.0 apg, 4.5 spg and has 802 career points and should be over 900 heading into her senior season.

Izzy Donica-Barron

The 6-0 Barron, also a standout volleyball player, is having a solid final season, for the Bears, putting up 11.6 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.6 spg while shooting 45% from the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='884522' first='Cecelia' last='Mills']-Florence

The 5-5 junior is another player who has made a significant improvement this season. Coming off of a sophomore season, where she averaged 9.5 points per game, Mills has almost doubled that output averaging 18.6 points to go along with 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 3.5 steals per game in leading the Bobcats to a 13-5 record good for 2nd place in the Northern Lakes.

Kloe Denninger-Northwood

Following up a fantastic freshman campaign where she averaged 13.5 points with an even better sophomore season. The 5-8 Denninger is averaging 17.2 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.3 apg, and 1.8 steals in leading the Evergreens to a 12-4 record and 2nd place in the Lakeland-East conference.

Avery Hetfeld-Webster

The 5-7 junior is a key reason why the 16-0 Tigers are ranked # 3 state with a solid 13.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.8 apg, and 3 spg and will have 1,000 points in her sights next winter.
