Midseason Watchlist Class of 2A: Best Defenders

The junior has great lateral quickness and is often tasked with being the primary defender on the PG of the other teams. She does a great job at finding angles to generate steals, and excels off these forced turnovers in transition. As Toy on the offensive end, is also a great scorer around the basket.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>These skills of hers have been on display all season, including a contest against Hamilton High School. One of these impressive defensive outings was against Crosstown High School. She had 11 steals in this game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Visor, in her first year of high school hoops, has also shown the ability to rebound at the guard position well. One of her better games on defense statistically in the season came in a recent bout. This was in a contest against Cheatam County High School, where she had six blocks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cramer's main trait that makes her a great interior defender is her timing. Cramer, with her height and long arms, times up shot attempts from opposing players in and around the paint extremely well. With that, Hewitt's defensive game has risen to another level over the past couple of weeks. In recent games against Fairley High School and Freedom Prep Academy, she had a combined 24 steals in the two contests.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hewitt also showed her scoring upside as a player in these two games, logging 20 or more points in each game.
