[player_tooltip player_id='1117188' first='Pearl' last='Brown'] stepped up to be a solid producer last night in her teams major victory over #1 rated DCG. Brown is that glue player you love to see. She is always willing to do whatever she can to help out her squad and that was on full display last night. She might not come out as the top scorer or anything like that but she did what was needed to be done and they won in a convincing battle, which is going to be a staple win of their season moving forward. Norwalk could bring home the 4A Title this Winter. They looked good enough last night so as long as they keep up with that momentum, that should continue forward.

Ella Bussell of Ankeny Christian High School led her team to a W last night while scoring a team high 21 points on about 50% shooting from the field. Bussell is a household name at AC by now. She primarily competes from the SG spot and works really well off the Wing on the catch but she can also handle a little bit if need be. All and all, this is the first we have hear about Bussell this Winter but I don't expect it to be the last. AC should win more games and she should post even better numbers down the road so now all we have to do is wait and see how it all plays out.

Kam Kahl is another hooper that won't lead your team in scoring but she will lead your team in everything else. Kahl finished last nights contest leading her program in Rebounds, Assists, and Steals. Therefore, she was getting people involved, crashing the glass consistently on both ends, while keeping pace of play in check throughout. Lisbon came away with a 35+ point victory so this one was more simple than anything else but that doesn't take away the fact that Kahl was a standout and has been a main producers for this group all Winter long so far.

Sometimes you have players out there that post some ridiculous stat lines and I think that is something that will never change for [player_tooltip player_id='1262585' first='Taylor' last='Evans'] in the middle as a Center. Evans recorded 14 blocks last night in her team's 12 point loss. No matter how you twist or turn it, that is A LOT of any stat, especially blocks. We have mentioned Evans in the past for her ability to get blocks, tips, and deflection in the paint with her length but this season she is doing it to the max. There have already been a few other games where Evans was near the double-digit marks in Blocks so this isn't a fluke. Opposing teams seem to think they can attack the paint against POP Catholic and as you can tell, that seems to not be the case a majority of the time.

Treynor is a household name in Iowa, who always has some ballers on hand on their roster. One that is going to be a name we continue to hear about until she graduates is [player_tooltip player_id='985182' first='Addison' last='Mauer']. Mauer is this groups leader. She communicates at a high rate, she works hard on both ends of the floor to be an example for others, and she never gives up on a play or situation. You can tell that her teammates follow what she is doing to a T and that helps them win along with their systems on both sides of the ball. Mauer led this group to another victory last night while holding her own. Nothing new. She did her thing and her team put her in favorable positions so make plays, which helped them seal the W in the very end.
