This morning, the WIAA released the brackets in each division, and we now know each team's potential path to the Resch Center. We will break that down as we inch closer to the playoffs, which tip off in slightly over a week. However, we have a few things to do before then, and we have some rankings content to finish today. We will release the inaugural 2029 rankings tomorrow, and then we will look at some things regarding the 2026 postseason. Today, we will look at some stock risers and new additions in the 2028 class rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='992484' first='Ambria' last='Fischer']

I enjoyed watching Fischer play with [program_tooltip program_id='712778' first='Purple' last='Aces'] over the summer, and I thought she brought plenty of energy and defensive skills to the lead guard spot. I never really thought anything more of her than that. However, Fischer has been an integral player for an Appleton East team that is one of the favorites to win Sectional Two this season because she does a little of everything for her team, and that's what makes her as important as she is to the Patriots. She can swing any game she plays in this postseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='879894' first='Mady' last='Vind']

The Milton Red Hawks have been a guard-oriented team over the past few seasons, and turned a corner as a program last season. Vind is a player who adds size to her team's lineup and has the motor and physicality to make up for being a smaller team. She is an excellent slasher who can get to the basket, force her way to the basket, and finish through traffic.

[player_tooltip player_id='889178' first='Tia' last='Anderson']

The Deerfield guard had more responsibility this season than I expected, because the former starting lead guard was not playing in her senior season. However, Anderson has handled the newfound responsibility well and done well under pressure against talented programs the Demons have played in their non-conference schedule.

[player_tooltip player_id='932119' first='Mya' last='Mayer']

I liked what Mayer brought to the Freshman Showcase in Appleton about a year and a half ago, didn't have a major role last season, but returned this season and been an excellent part of the Chargers' run so far this season. Mayer is a physical post player who can finish around the basket and has been a double-double player in her time at Kettle Moraine Lutheran this season. She will be a player who will be a household name over the next few seasons.
