With three sites involved – each 30 to 40 minutes of driving apart – the Breakdown Community Clash presented some logistical challenges as these big events often do. That's why Ally McGinnis was on hand all day at St. Michael-Albertville for five games while I covered six games at Becker and St. Cloud Cathedral, both live and online. (Tony Ragulan was on a beach in the Dominican Republic, but that's a whole other story!) Yesterday we brought you our top performers from those two sites. Today we've got a couple more athletes who earned Player of the Game honors, along with a handful of other prospects who impressed. Here goes.

PLAYERS OF THE GAME

[player_tooltip player_id='1718233' first='Lydia' last='Anderson'] – 2027 guard, Foley

Hustle and heart. If I was limited to just two words to describe Lydia's game, those would have to be the two. She just goes and goes and goes. That's admirable, of course, but when you've also got skills, that's a package every coach would like to have. We love how Lydia shoots the basketball, with a silky smooth stroke. She holds the finish as if to admire her handiwork – and there's plenty to see. Lydia is a good athlete with nice acceleration and a little bit of bounce. She defends hard, anticipates well and forces turnovers with high frequency. Foley has some nice pieces and a balanced attack. On Saturday, Anderson scored 14 points in a 65-55 win over a strong Watertown-Mayer team, while [player_tooltip player_id='1183731' first='Kylie' last='Storkamp'] had 15, Addison Beier 11 and Alexis Swanson 10. The Falcons are now 17-2 on the season and will battle the likes of Sauk Centre and Milaca to represent Section 6AA at the State Tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='866100' first='Addie' last='Iversen'] – 2027 guard, Delano

We thought the Delano-Becker matchup had the makings of a battle. It didn't really turn out that way as the Tigers got the jump on the Bulldogs in the first half to build a 10-point cushion and went on to earn a 71-47 victory. Iversen played a crucial role in forging the lead, scoring five field goals before halftime. She finished the game with 24 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. That's par for the course these days for Addie, who has risen in the Prep Girls Hoops prospect rankings to the top 30 while making herself into a D1 prospect. She is athletic and bouncy, with the innate ability to get around or up and over defenders with relative ease. Iversen can also shoot the three-ball and has a nice mid-range game, too. She's averaging over 15 points and nearly 7 rebounds per game for Delano. Michigan Tech commit [player_tooltip player_id='458302' first='Abbie' last='Pietila'] had 14 points for the Tigers while 8th grader [player_tooltip player_id='1559037' first='Kali' last='Schultz'] scored 13.

OTHERS WE LIKED

[player_tooltip player_id='1239229' first='Ehlin' last='Youngberg'] – 2030 guard, Little Falls

Yesterday we told you about the MVP performance from [player_tooltip player_id='904190' first='Malin' last='Youngberg'] of Little Falls. A lot of the credit for the sophomore's success should be shared with her sister Ehlin (pronounced like Ellen). Already 5'11, Ehlin is an athletic point guard whose focus right now is on being a quality facilitator. She has shown the ability in AAU to get to the rim and knock down shots, as well, and that's coming along in high school competition. We won't put too much pressure on the lefty, but she's going to be a top talent in the Class of 2030.

Kaiya Schumann - 2027 guard, Sartell

Sartell graduated a lot of experience last spring which created opportunities and expectations for the remaining players. Watching her on Saturday it was obvious that Schumann has seized the moment. A consistent double-digit contributor, she scored 20 points against Little Falls on the day. The 5'10 guard is long and athletic, moves around the court with ease and pace, and has excellent elevation. Let's say we're intrigued.

[player_tooltip player_id='992413' first='Kennedy' last='Lewis'] – 2028 guard, Sartell

We were familiar with Lewis' game long before Saturday's proceedings. Her work on a strong [program_tooltip program_id='767539' first='Minnesota' last='Comets'] Elite squad speaks for itself, even though the sheer number of great prospects on the team often leaves her overshadowed. At the Community Clash, the 5'5 floor general was firmly in the spotlight. She runs the show for Sartell and was everywhere. Lewis is a skilled ball handler and a quality passer who sees the floor well, makes great decisions, and is a multi-dimensional scoring threat. We love her positive energy and vocal presence.

Marni Koosmann – 2026 guard, Sartell

We were not as familiar with Koosmann's game, although she always has a presence in the box score and generates plenty of highlights. Softball is Marni's priority – we're told she's committed to Minnesota-Duluth – but if she wanted to pursue basketball at the next level there would be plenty of takers. The 5'8 guard is a legit athlete, a fierce competitor who plays with grit and energy and hustle. She is a quality three-point shooter with plenty of range. She is a also a workhorse who loves to defend and uses her quickness and anticipation to great effect.

THE NEXT GENERATION

Our focus during the high school season is usually on players doing great work in the here and now. On a veteran squad like Northome-Kelliher, where seniors [player_tooltip player_id='782558' first='Kate' last='Thayer'] and [player_tooltip player_id='502577' first='Kylee' last='Binkley'] are now all-time greats, it can take some time for younger players to work their way into the rotation. That's why we decided to take a photo of three freshmen you'll no doubt come to know down the road. Left to right: Forward Bella Elhard, guard [player_tooltip player_id='1306765' first='Bristol' last='Binkley'] and forward Kiya Buentenmeier. We look forward to watching their evolution.
