Stock Up: '27 Guards Boosting Their Value

The future of the backcourt is already here. These Class of 2027 guards have been on a tear in recent weeks, turning heads with big performances and showing why their value is rising fast.    Jaelynn plays the game like a true point guard, consistently putting her teammates in position to score while also creating offense for herself when needed. She has strong footwork around the basket, allowing her to finish against taller defenders, and once she gets a step on her primary defender, she does a great job using her body to keep them on her hip and protect the ball. Jaelynn has generated interest from Patriot League, NE10, America East, MAAC, and ECC programs, and after recently returning from a torn ACL, she's working her way back to full strength.     Tatum caught fire in a recent matchup against Canton, finishing with 28 points on an efficient 10-for-16 shooting night, including 7-for-12 from three, leading King Philip to a 75–57 win. She followed that up with another strong performance against Attleboro, scoring 18 points with four made threes in a double-digit victory. Tatum thrives in transition, pushing the pace and consistently getting out in front for easy finishes. She gets her shot off quickly from deep and is always ready to shoot on the catch, making her a constant threat when left open.     Ashley has gotten off to a strong start this season, averaging 9.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game on a deep and talented roster. She recently posted 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals in a 46–38 win over Lincoln-Sudbury. Ashley has a high-arcing three-point shot that allows her to shoot over defenders, and she's equally effective from the mid-range. In the high post, she plays with great composure, using her size advantage to knock down shots and create matchup problems.     Fatima delivered a breakout performance in a 68–59 win over Hoosac, exploding for 29 points while going 7-for-10 from three and adding four steals. Despite the big night, she credited the win to her teammates, showing the type of leadership every coach values. Defensively, she has excellent hands and anticipation, jumping passing lanes and disrupting plays before they develop. In the full-court press, she uses her length to create easy transition opportunities, and she followed up that performance with 8 points and 3 steals in a 23-point win over Brewster Academy.     Lilly put together a dominant showing against Mount St. Joseph Academy, scoring 24 points, including 16 in the first quarter alone. She scores at all three levels, using her quickness to blow past defenders and finish at the rim. On the defensive end, she brings constant energy, using her hands to pressure ball handlers and make possessions uncomfortable. Lilly is also a strong slasher who reads double teams well, finding open teammates instead of forcing shots, and remains a reliable threat from beyond the arc with very few weaknesses in her offensive game.
