Whitfield vs. Hazelwood Central Top Five Stars

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Hoops Missouri was in North County St. Louis to take in a nonconference game between Whitfield and host Hazelwood Central.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The two teams were evenly matched and that was how the game played out for much of the evening. The Hawks got out to a quick start and led 19-8 at the end of the first quarter. She plays with great strength and toughness at both ends of the court. When a big basket was needed, she was able to deliver it. She got to the basket on the drive and she also dropped some nice dimes with her court vision. She had a huge second quarter, which sparked Whitfield back from its early double-digit deficit. She is a smooth offensive player who can create her shot with slick handles and a variety of escape moves. She showed an excellent hesi move that froze a defender on the way into the lane. She also knocked down a open 3-pointer from the corner. She has some tremendous speed in the open court as she accelerated in the open court for a basket. She was tough on the attack and she used the two-foot jump stop to score in traffic. She scored six points. She is a good athlete who did a nice job on the offensive boards. She got a couple of buckets off of offensive rebounds.
